Disaster Movie Fans Rejoice!

Fans of disaster movies will really enjoy "The Great Los Angeles Earthquake". Originally telecast on NBC as a two-part, four-hour miniseries titled "The Big One: The Great Los Angeles Earthquake", in 1990, the DVD rendition is very good. The special effects, despite the lack of CGI, were quite impressive for the time and hold up well even now. The entire storyline, which has not been edited as it was in copies distributed for television syndication, is entirely believable.

It is on par with the great theatrical disaster movie, "Earthquake", from the 70's disaster craze, and is far superior to NBC's implausible "10.5" outings of recent years. The only bad thing about it is that all you get is the movie. There are no behind-the-scenes extras, not even commercials that ran on the network about it. ANOTHER EARTHQHAKE MOVIE

I like this film. It held my attention;and it had a lot of stars in it I hadn't seen in a long time. It was a mini-series when it played on tv. They really did a nice job.Very enjoyable. Loved it from the very begining to the very end

I remember watching this movie some years ago and enjoyed it so I thought I would buy it on dvd as all I have is a video taped version from the tv. It is filled with suspence and heaps of drama from the moment the movie starts. Another reason I got is that it's produced by the same person who produced an old t.v series Emergency and in the movie it shows the Fire Engines leaving the Fire Station as they do in the tv show. I haven't purchased any other movies on dvd from any ebay sites so sorry I can't compare it to other movies on dvd.Lire l'avis complet...

Misleading information, but all in all a decent disaster movie.

This movie was not released in 2006, as is stated all over E-Bay...it is originally from 1990. Perhaps the DVD release was 2006. This is mildly misleading, but I already knew the original venue and release year when I bought it. Still...Lire l'avis complet...

Haven't had a chance to watch the video yet, but I'm sure that it will be a delightful experience as the reviews look great.

Typical TV movie

Standard tv movie fare. The effects reflect the time and the side stories are predictable, but overall its an ok effort.
