The real story by The Beatles themselves!

What was it like to be in a band that completely changed the world? The answer is in "The Beatles Anthology" video series. Released as a set of 8 VHS tapes, 8 Laserdiscs or 5 DVDs, this historical account is the true story as told by The Beatles themselves. Starting in July 1940 with the birth of Richard Starkey (a.k.a. Ringo Starr) and concluding with the band's eventual break-up in 1970, this monumental home video series takes an in-depth look at a classic and legendary saga as told to the viewers from the inside. There were only 4 young men and a few close associates who really knew exactly what was happening. What is presented here is a historical documentation of what it was like to be a part of that crazy world that surrounded John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, as they made their way from Liverpool to the very top of the world. This program focuses on every aspect of their lives and career. Among the highlights are their trips to Hamburg, the Royal Variety Command Performance, their debut on The Ed Sullivan Show, "A Hard Day's Night", the Shea Stadium concert, trouble in the Phillipines, the "Our World" performance, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", joining the Mararishi Mahesh Yogi in India, the formation of Apple Corps, and the "Abbey Road" album. There are many endless film clips, television sequences, radio snippets and audio comments collectively brought together into a stunning package that tells a story unlike anything else imaginable. The series concludes with the "Free As A Bird" video. "The Beatles Anthology" is ten hours of footage that is full of great moments from the lads from Liverpool.Lire l'avis complet...

The Beatle's Anthology set was much more creative and concise than expected

May 30, 2013

I purchased the Beatle's Anthology VHS box set and I have reviewed all 8 tapes!!!!!! Wow.....a fantastic production of Beatle history!
I was a teen-ager during the Beatle's beginning and I did not appreciate them at the time. Kids are usually very bias and uninformed I definitely was to say the least.
I would highly recommend this item for any fan of modern music!! Jimmy Marano

The Beatles Anthology

I bought "The Beatles Anthology" because it is the die hard Beatles fan's bible.Since it is the Beatles themselves narrating the entire anthology, a lot of things get told the way "it really was". George Harrison was the greatest historian for the Beatles, and his recall of events is quite remarkable. The only thing not straightened out was did they play football and jam with Elvis? : )Lire l'avis complet...

The Beatles Anthology (vhs)

I am a Beatles fan. Grew up listening to their music and effect they had on a generation. I had this series on home tapes when I recorded them when they first aired on ABC tv. I lost the tapes during one move. I'm glad I have them back (commercial-free) to enjoy over and over again. They bring back alot of memories.Lire l'avis complet...

Beatles Anthology

It was like watching the History Channel on the subject of the Beatles life together as a band. All the details made you understand and appreciate all four artists on a personal level. I loved the whole thing and would watch it again and probably again. A must have for Beatle buffs.Lire l'avis complet...
