Great documentary

After seeing the Get Back documentary back in November, I instantly became a Beatles fan. I’ve watched a few documentaries since then and I started to get more and more into them. So I was on Google a while ago and I saw that they had some thing called the anthology set. I read some reviews about it and all of the reviews are pretty good. So I said to myself let me buy it. I watched it and it was so insightful because these are the Beatles speaking for themselves about what was going on from day one till the time it ended. It is a great documentary. The fourth DVD when they started to split and go their separate ways was very sad. I started to cry. But overall it was a great documentary. There was a few glitches in a couple of the DVDs where the picture was scrambled a little, nothing big but it took away from what I was watching but it was OK.Lire l'avis complet...

A good & interesting & enjoyable group of CD's.

This is "THE LONG AND WINDING ROAD OF GEORGE, PAUL, JOHN AND RINGO". It starts with early history of the group and takes you to the decisions they make and the net result is very good music. It also shows the influence that Sir George Martin passed forward to the Beatles. Regardless of age, quite a bit of enjoyable music and a large part of Music History.

The Beatles Anthology is a must have for Beatles fans...it covers everything right from the beginning, with the original band members and how they transitioned to the Fab Four. It pulls no punches and gives you the full picture...the great and the not-so-great.

More film of the Beatles than I knew existed.

Didn't find time to watch it at first, made some time watched the parts 2 at a time per night, lots of early stuff, never saw all of the Shea Stadium concert before the progression & maturity of the band & their music & personalities there for public view. Anyone Can Get to Know the Beatles!

I have wanted this set on DVD for quite sometime. I recorded what aired on ABC in the 90's, but the VHS quality left alot to be desired & I came to learn that the DVD set contains hours of additional live concert footage as well as more in depth interviews. The only time I got to see the Beatles back then, was their performances on the Ed Sullivan Show. The anthology makes it clear how incredibly talented each of them were & how tight they were together...and I LOVE that! I'm immediately thrown back then & am reminded of the intensity of the mania & how it planted the desire in me to become a musician...we ALL wanted to learn to play! It also dispells alot of the rumors of the time about personality conflicts, rivalries with other British bands at the time, most all of those rumors were unnecessarily started by reporters in the press.
It's my hope to pass this on to my kids & grandkids so they can learn where the roots of todays rock music came from and get them excited about the amazing part the Beatles play in the history of rock & pop music. This set also gives anyone interested a glimpse of that decade...the 60's. The music, the culture, the introduction of drugs on a large scale & the loss of innocence.
I highly recommend the Beatles Anthology for it's impact value on today's society. What a great time and what great music it is and will always be. So buy it...sing along with it...love it...and by all means, pass it on.Lire l'avis complet...
