3/5 stars = I prefer SINGING in the Rain by Gene Kelly

I did care for this film. It had some good bits, but I found it depressing.

I didn't mind the b/w or the minimal dialog, it just felt to much like the film SINGING IN THE RAIN with Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds, or A STAR IS BORN.

The people I saw it with loved it. It does have some interesting bits, but it simply didn't move me as all that original.

My deepest apologies, I hate to give a film a bad review. But there it is. I hope you get more out of it than I did.

Should of been silent !

Not talking started out O K but became increasingly dumb . One they got to the talkies they
should have started made no sense any longer. O well money poorly spent.

Ignore the elitist criticism. This is a beautifully made film that pays wonderful tribute to a bygone era of Hollywood cinema (evolving is inevitable and appreciated though). Futile comparisons to classic films aside, this is a grade-A film on every level. Lire l'avis complet...
