"That Thing You Do!" does well!

This soundtrack from the movie of the same title features some very good songs, all of which were written and performed to sound as though the songs actually came from the year 1964, which I like.

Tom Hanks himself had a hand in writing a number of these songs, and as all of these are original works, it can be said that what Tom has done is he created an alternate musical history of 1964, which I also like.

The title track is the impetus of the movie, yes, but there are also some very good tracks by artists which are also part of the movie, even if you never see those particular artists in the film, such as the Saturn 5 and the Vicksburgs.

No over-played, same-song-in-every-movie soundtrack here. ALL ORIGINAL, fantastic music made in the 90's but sounds like the magical 60's. Tom Hanks is a genius and this is HIS movie. The true brilliance of the movie is reflected in this AWESOME CD soundtrack. This CD is a must for anyone who loves the classic style of 60's rock and roll. I bought my copy the day the movie came out (10-4-96) and after about a million plays, it still is and always will be one of my all-time favorites. Buy it, play it, enjoy it. Love the movie - Gotta love the soundtrack!

Decided to buy it because we all love the movie - 2 adults and 10 and 13 year olds. Complete collection of all the music from the movie. Just lots of fun music - even if you haven't seen the movie. Reason for "Good" rating - instead of "Excellent" - a few of the tracks sound as though they have been EQ'ed differently than on the DVD - a little of a let down.Lire l'avis complet...
