1980's Technics SL-J2 Turntables Still Going Strong Today
I bought my first Technics SL-J2 turntable at a thrift store a few months ago. I found, cleaning off the hardened lubricant and installing a new drive belt has these machines working like new. For a 1980's turntable, I'm really impressed with the optics that knows when there's a record there, the size of the record and it also can skip tracks like a CD player. For white vinyl I found that I need to run the turntable in manual mode. This turntable was no different. I only changed the belt, installed the stylus and this unit was working great in both manual and automatic modes. Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent turntable
This thing was made something like 35 years ago, and it still works perfectly. Amazing. I love the 80s style. I didn’t do anything to it except replace the stylus, but even that wasn’t really necessary. Maybe audiophiles turn their noses up at this kind of turntable, but it’s compact in my small office, and it’s nice to lower the lid and just push Play. And you can skip a track easily - sometimes there’s one song you just don’t like. Highly recommended. Lire l'avis complet...
