Nostalgic Video Game Heaven-Must own for old schoolers!

This game brings back nostalgic feelings when I first started playing my Nintendo. Super Mario Bros. brings back so many memories when I was a child. Plus it has some new features like sleep mode so you can pick up where you left off and it lets you save high scores to show off. It is the perfect gift for the old school gamer.

Unfortunately, The down side to this game can only be played on a small screen(On the Game Boy Advance, SP, Micro, or Nintendo DS) unless you have a Nintendo Gamecube and a Gamecube gameboy player. It can be a strain to the eyes if played for too long on a small screen. And if played on a Nintendo DS, The controls can feel a bit awkward, since this game was originally played with a controller with only a directional pad and two buttons right next to each other horizontally. The Nintendo DS has a directional pad and 4 buttons in a diamond form. you see what I mean?

Other than that, it perfectly catches the nostalgia of the old school gamer within myself. It's playing the game that got me playing video games in the first place, but now it's on a newer system where you don't always have blow into the cartridge in order for the game to work. Love the original Super Mario!!

It’s been many many years since I played the original Super Mario Bros. I was very excited I was able to get this and have it work. It’s just as great as I remember. Still one of my favorites!!

Decent enough

Well, celebrating Mario's 20th anniversary as a console video game character, Nintendo has decided to kick off a series of re-releases of classic NES game, starting, of course, Super Mario Bros. Basically, this isn't a bad port. I think that personally the game itself is great. But unless you can't handle buying anything more than 3 years old, don't spend your money on this. A much better port of this was released 5 years earlier for the gameboy color called 'Super Mario Bros. Deluxe', which had the original, along with a versus mode, in which you and another Mario player could race through a level via link cable. It also had a 'challenge' mode in which you explore a level, rather than race to complete it. Its unlockables included a 1 player racing game in which you race Boo instead of another Mario player, along with a port of 'The Lost Levels', once you beat the 300000 point high score, along with a couple of fun little time wasters in the toy box. I guess this has turned into a review of SMBDX instead of this SMB, but heck; unless you're absolutely convinced that you can be entertained for days on end with a single 32-level 8-bit Mario game, find a copy of SMBDX for the Gameboy Color, it'll be cheaper and more for your money.Lire l'avis complet...

It works good except one part

The game works great but some times it has problems with working on my game boy advance but after a few try’s it normally will work

Blast from the past

Here we go ladies and gentle men this is another blast from the past. The game featured today is the classic version of the super Mario’s brother game from the original NES. The game has been shrunk to fit in your DS, SP or Micro Game boy. The game is as amazing as it was in the past as it its now just with greater colour and better sound. All the same features of the original game are present in this one except Duck Hunt. There aren’t any real draw backs on this game except if you play it on the Micro after a while your hands will probably cramp up. All in all this blast from the past is another great addition to the game boy line up I hope you buy one

A classic game now portable

This is a great original mario game that can be played on gameboy advance and even the older ds consoles.
