Had this game as a kid - still fun now!

I gave 4 out of 5 stars because I think this is a solid B+ game. It was a lot of fun when I was a kid and it was a breakthrough game for its time as it was one of the few games that used the polygon mechanism the Super Nintendo offered.

Thoughts playing as an adult:
It is still challenging. It gives me a very nostalgic feeling as I remember all the car characters and courses. Looking at this now in comparison to other SNES games, the graphics are very glitchy. And although the graphics are glitchy the game is still playable. With the hefty price tag of Mario Kart, this is a nice alternative. I paid roughly $7 for this but I probably wouldn't pay more than that. If you are a collector this is a definite must have for your collection. I did think that my 6 year old would enjoy this but she found it hard to play (likely due to the graphic differences from touchscreen games)

All in all it is a solid game as long as the price tag stays low.

Stunt Race FX never had a chance!

Stunt Race FX was the second game for the Super Nintendo to make use of the Super FX chip. The game was a first to feature fully polygonal environments and vehicles. The game offers 4 vehicles to choose from, F1 racer, 4wd monster truck, sport coupe and a motorcycle. They all have there performances and offer a good amount of variety to the game. Stunt Race is a decent game, with plenty of speed and a great level of control. You can even play against a friend in the battle trax mode, this allows for a very tiny viewing screen though and is not as enjoyable as the speed or stunt trax modes. Overall this game is definitely worth picking up if you are a snes racing fan.Lire l'avis complet...

Fun 3d racer

I had this game back in the day. It's fun to play and it was impressive for a snes to pull this out back then. FX chip power!

A not so much blast from my childhood gamer past!

I loved this game back in 94' when life was a lot simpler and 3d graphics were thought to be futuristic. I enjoyed this game hours on end and remember going to sleep at night still hearing those 16-bit sound effects as I drifted off. Fast forward 16 years and time has not been well for this game. My friend and I both felt nostalgia for this game and once I found it on ebay, were more than eager relive our past gaming experience. Once I received the game, we immediately popped the cartridge into my junior SNES and projected it onto my 100in projection screen. I don't know if the larger screen had anything to do with it, but we could only manage 2 races before feeling very dizzy from the poor polygonal shapes turning each and every other way. Even though I loved this game when I was a child, and am proud that I did own and play the hell out of it when the FX chip was cutting edge technology, I regretfully have to recommend that this game stay in the past.Lire l'avis complet...

A great game. Instant classic!

Most people think of the Mario Kart series when racing games are discussed for any Nintendo system. For whatever reason,Stunt Race FX does not get the attention that it deserves. The game features the FX chip (the two extra pieces of cartridge sticking out on the bottom of the game. There were a few games that featured this chip-Star Fox was one of them. The chip's function was to enhance graphics and detail. We all remember what Star Fox looked like, right? The game's designs were fantastic-almost modern art-ish with the various shapes and colors. The same goes for Stunt Race FX. The only problem is that those who see this game, or any Super Nintendo game for that matter today, are not impressed with what they see because it is being compared to the PS3, XBOX 360, and Wii. So rather than being impressed by what they see, the viewers of Stunt Race FX of today see only a choppy, grainy race game with no substance. All I can say is to give it time. The game can be purchased very cheaply so there is not really a risk- I got mine for .99 + s/h. The controlls are very easy to learn and the split-screen, head to head 2 player mode is always a hit.Lire l'avis complet...

Stunt Race FX

Good racing game for SNES

You have 4 cars / motorcycle (bonus 5) to choose from
and are competing against other 3?4? cars

Good course

Great music (really adds to the whole game)

Laggy graphics maybe 10-14 Fps

but this is because its one
of the first games to be produced with 3d polygon interactive
environment. You can see the 1st generation of UV mapping.

Has Time limit, and is quite hard at certain levels with
certain types of cars.

But its a great game even to this age. simple but fun!

Stunt Race FX(SNES) - Why I Bought It

I bought this awesome title a while back on eBay. I love it! When I was younger (about 12 years old, 10 years ago) I played this game all the time. Over time however I lost the game. Now that I'm an adult and have my own income, I wanted to bring back some of my great childhood experiences. This was one of them! I would come home from school and play Stunt Race FX with my brother all the time. My favorite vehicle was the pick-up truck. Some might ponder why I would by an older game with less-than-favorable graphics compared to todays standards. But to me, graphics aren't everything, gameplay and fun ratio is!

The bottomline, if you were a kid growing up in the SNES age, I would highly recommend this game. It's fun and you'll definetly get your money's worth!

great nostalgia, poor replay value, great childrens game

this game is impressive (in its time) but it has not aged well. i bought this game for the nostalgia but i was a bit disappointed. the controls are delayed and exaggerated. i remember this game being groundbreaking when it came out. it uses the FX chip which was very soon replaced by the N64. SNES was doing everything they could to keep up with the graphics race. this is a fun game for kids and adults who remember playing this game as a child. you will probably put the game on the shelf after about 10 minutes of play.Lire l'avis complet...
