Good read. I recommend it.
Very interesting if you're a Stones fan.
I'm now over half way through it and it seems to be stalling a bit.
A little too much emphasis on rowdy crowds and the difficulty of getting IN AND OUT of venues and hotels. (We get it Bill, Move on)
Still, a very good read.
I just ordered, "Rolling with the stones ".
It's supposed to PICK UP where this one leaves off.
I'm not a snob but you have to Overlook the Grammer, sentence structure and spelling, etc.
But that just adds to the refreshing nature and honest direction Bill takes in this book.Lire l'avis complet...

Wonderful detailed book. Really interesting read.
A nice personal look at the RS. Not particularly great photography, but a nice glimpse.

"Stone Alone"........great title, ... says it all.
Has a lot of behind the scenes stories that add so much more to the history behind The Rolling Stones. Good read.

Stone Alone
If you want details about the Stones early history from a band members view point this book will give you plenty. I found the early part of the book interesting and I learned some things about the Stones development, but after awhile I felt bogged down in the day to day details. Perhaps Wyman was to and wrote it to reflect that feeling. It all just got to be the same thing page after page. I hoped for more personal ante-dotes among all the relentless facts. Wyman does give insights into the inter workings of the band , you just need to wade through a lot of repetitive info to get to it. This book is like an accounting of the early Stones business, complete with copies of contracts and listings of every show they played in their early career. Informative but not a casual read.Lire l'avis complet...
Excellent Purchase!!!
Outstanding, lengthy, but compelling read. This was a 1990 edition in a perfect dust jacket. I don't thin this volume has ever been read.

Stone Alone
Probably the most informative Stones book you can get. Honest and very detailed and definitely a must read for any fan. Bill does a wonderful job covering every part of the Stones career in the 60s. There are bits from the earlier and latter parts of their career but mostly focused on the 60s. A great glimpse into Bill's life and personality. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Lire l'avis complet...
