I was working on a emergency repair at a elementary school in Westchester NY, during a break I saw this book on a desk. The artwork pulled me in, the lead character was a bat? I had to know more. And so it began, I have four grandchildren from 2 to 10, I am a 69 year old child myself and I had to have this book. The story is full and rich, sad and funny, full of good basic values that the young need to learn and the old need to remember. I am an artist and when I say each page of this book made me linger and drink in all it had to give that is an understatement. Great book - Don't like the Board book style

My 6-year-old daughter loves this book. She checked it out from the library week after week, until I finally decided to buy it for her. The title said "hardcover" book, so I thought I was getting the same one she had been bringing home from the library, but instead received a "board book."
