I served a combination of 33 years in the USAF/USAFR. I've experienced a wide range of leadership types: some bad and some great. Sad to say that bad leadership was very prevalent while good leadership was rare. This firsthand account by Becky Halstead, who graciously communicated with me by email when I was researching for my master's program, was hard to put down. I retired as an Aerospace Propulsion Superintendent/Specialist Section Chief for a KC-135R aircraft maintenance squadron. I was attracted to this book because her leadership style and care/concern for her troops resonated with my values. I am strict, fair, but I knew that if I took care of my Airmen they would take care of the mission.
