Star Wars- Episode One- The Phantom Menace

This is the first film in the Second Trilogy or Beginning of the Star Wars Saga. I bought this Movie to complete my Widescreen DVD collection of the films. Excellent movie, Fantastic Graphics and State of the Art (for its time) CG animations.

Although this movie was intended to begin the Saga that is Star Wars it infact took away from the "PG-13" rating and pushed it toward the "PG" Rating in my opinion. With the introduction of the infamous and clumsy Jar Jar Binks, this movie was aimed more toward the Child Audience rather than the aging teens who saw the beginning of the George Lucas Masterpiece in the 70's.

All in all i would recommend this movie to anyone, Jar Jar Binks with his downplay of Mature themes such as Violence, Killing, Murder, and Oppression that were highly prevalent in the first or Last films, was Majorly out weighed by the Menace of the Sith, as well as the brilliant Pod Racing scenes.

Very good, well rounded Sci Fi movie that kids can watch too.

There are lots of interesting aliens and their vehicles. Good characters and action, interesting story and unusual settings, a few good monsters.

Big budget film that delivers!!

Wow! Great start to the Star Wars prequels. Big budget = Big movie. This movie was so hyped up everyone in general was excited to see it. The movie was really well written. The cast was great with the exception of the annoying Jar-Jar (Lucas please digitally remove him in your next DVD revamp) The diehards may have had an unachievable expectation for this movie and read into things too much but taken as a standalone film and not as the be all to all Star Wars films this movie was GREAT! a must watch to see why this story is so liked and a chance to get sucked into the story right from the beginning of the Star Wars story.Lire l'avis complet...

We had a VCR version and wanted a copy that could be watched on a computer. Perfect condition, good value.

Great. A classic I will always enjoy. Simple as that.

The Star Wars saga holds a special place in most people hearts. It is one of the most transcending series' in the history of film. The original trilogy brought a new standard to the cinematic effect of movies.

In 1999, "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace" debuted with must anticipation and eager fans of all ages waiting to get into the theater to see the back story to the saga!

I personally believe this is the best in the prequel trilogy. I remember the excitement I felt initially felt and how quickly I ended up falling in love with this film.

Just getting done with the 5th grade when it released I was young enough to get super into it, but old enough to remember the respect and admiration I had for the original three.

You can take the high road when critiquing Star Wars films or you can be a pain and disrespect its craft. Many people don't give this film a ton or credit for all of the reason Jar Jar Binks first came into play then. Unlike most, I don't mind or care that he is in it. I enjoy this film for what it is, a memorable and classic start to the Star Wars universe for us all.

I hope you can. will or already have enjoyed this great film. I know I did and always will!

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

First generation Star War fans often cry about Episode I not meeting their expectations...however, this is a family movie and the new generation of kids has thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It is designed to appeal to the entire family, and with this in mind I can live with the likes of Jar-Jar Binks! Kids need some funny parts after intense podraces, space battles and frightening Sith! Worth watching and worth keeping- just don't try to compare to the original trilogy. The Cons: This movie could have used some more character development and smarter dialogue. Even so- it is a great story. Obviously a must for any Star Wars fan. Darth Maul gives an epic lightsaber duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gonn Jinn. Enjoy!Lire l'avis complet...

This product was purchased to update from the VHS version purchased years ago. The story line can hold your attention to the point you forget to eat that snack or drink your libation.
