An incredible RPG.

For anyone who likes RPGs, I highly recommend this game. This is the sequel to Star Ocean: First Departure which is also available on the PSP, but it doesn't require you to have played the first one, as the story completely stands on it's own, with only a few references to the previous game. The gameplay and story are extremely good, and definitely stands out among other RPGs, especially for the PSP. The gameplay is similar to the previous game and uses the same real-time system. This game is actually a remake of Star Ocean: The Second Story which was originally released on the PlayStation. The changes include fully voiced dialog, an additional character, and an updated script. These things make an already great game one that even more people can enjoy. I've played this game several times when it was first released for the ps1. I wanted to try this one out too.

I didn't like the new character arts and most character new voiceovers (I preferred the old ones I was used to). I do like the added animations which the ps version didn't have. It's also nice to have one extra character added, even though s/he is pretty much piece of crap. Also the animators have been a bit lazy as in dialogues where you can see the character's picture, they just flip the same picture i.e. Rena's moon on her hair switch sides making it look like she has moon both sides of her head. Also the name switching in towns, items etc is tad annoying to old schoolers. They've also fixed the Dream Bracelet glitch, pity....

It's nice to have this game redone for the psp, even though imo the ps version WAS more to my liking, but it doesn't mean ps players shouldn't try this version out too. It's not like they won't find anything interesting in this game. I found it to be very interesting to find out things that were different from the ps version. If this is your first time w star ocean 2, you definitely want to buy this game. This is really great game to play, if you love the jrpgs. The skill system is way better than in later star ocean games and there are so many different endings in this game. The story is interesting, characters and sidequests are fun and the musics are just amazing. I've always loved the humor in this game, and the private action system which affects your endings. When prompted with a question, you have different results as well, depending on your answer. This game offers you so much stuff to do.Lire l'avis complet...

One of the best RPG's on PSP!!

If you love RPG's then the Star Ocean titles are for you! Both games are tons of fun and you can't go wrong. You will have a ball playing the game, meeting tons of interesting characters along the journey and the script is very unique. This series is the best BY FAR on the PSP RPG genre. Star Ocean offers hours and hours of game play and is also very replayable due to the different endings depending on the choices that you make during the game. Works good and am satisfied so far.

Works fine and is in good condition. The only gripe, is every once in awhile while playing the game, it automatically asks if I want to quit the game. Don't know if it's the UMD or my psp. Will need to check out other games to see. Will update when I do.Lire l'avis complet...

Wonderful Original PS RPG

This is one of the most classic games I have grown up with. It is a great basis of an RPG and has very special traits of it's own compared to other types of games. I find it to be an everlasting game that I will not forget and look forward to others giving it a shot, if they enjoy classic RPGs.

If you're an RPG fan this is a great classic RPG game. It's a two game series and this one is the second game.

Great game

I'm only about 4-5 hour in, but I love this game. It's a good buy if you are a fan of Squaresoft RPGs.

This product was labeled "like new." The umd casing for the game has a big crack on the front. This product is not "like new."
