Blast from the past

Love the Starfox series and by far, this one is definitely an adventure unlike any other. Aside from your typical shoot em up like Starfox 64, this one dwells more in an adventure type game, such as The Legend of Zelda. Great storyline! Cool graphics for it's time, and definitely builds a video game like atmosphere that really sets the tone of the game. Soundtrack is awesome and it's cool to see how day and night time pass throughout your adventure. Challenging puzzles, compelling story, and awesome character development. Go save the Lylat System!Lire l'avis complet...

A different Star Fox game, but still very good.

Alright people, 1st off this is totally different than Star Fox and Star Fox 64. There are very few times you will actually fly the Arwing, and when you do, it's very short and not much detail.
This turned off a lot of people, but I gave it a try, and wow, it is actually very fun.
You will spend the majority of time on the ground, searching for the spirits of Krazoa and bringing back the Spellstones to repair Dinosaur planet. The game is very, very similar (actually, almost the same) to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time in it's gameplay, fighting, and boss fights.
You will wander around an adventure field, and go in to some areas that are very large and full of secrets on your quest. The controls are great, and the camera has yet to mess up on me. The graphics are very, very nice (especially for it's time), the gameplay is smooth, and it makes you want to beat it to find out the ending.
This is a long game, especially if you don't go on the Internet and look up walkthroughs. There is a great mixture of puzzles, timed-missions (none of which are too hard to complete), and fights to keep you guessing as well.
The only complaint is that the gameplay can get a little repetitive during the middle of the game, but once you get past that, you will enjoy finishing it up.
If you can get this game cheap as I did on eBay, you will be getting well-worth what you spent.
I'd give this game an 8/10.

It's Like A Cross Between Star Fox and Zelda - Cool!

If you're looking at this game thinking that it's like the original flight simulator game, then you'll be disappointed - until you play it, that is. Instead, Adventures presents a new take on the Star Fox character by presenting us with an adventure game that is much like a Legend of Zelda game. You'll explore various worlds, use various weapons and items, fight off bad guys and bosses, all while trying to conquer a mission and defeat a super villain. Along the way there will be people to meet, tasks to accomplish, enemies to smash and puzzles to solve. Basically, as I said, this is JUST like a Zelda game...if you like adventure games and if you like Zelda, you will love this game. The graphics are very good, the controls are easy (especially since there's a diagram in the corner of the screen), and it's just a smooth presentation. Some people might have problems with this because there can be a lot of back tracking or trying to figure out where to go next, but these little tricks make the game what it is. Again, this is JUST like a Legend of Zelda adventure game...just with different characters in a different world. What's fun is that it takes place on various planets and you're enemies are a race of dinosaurs. You will use some very unique items to accomplish your tasks, and your weapon is this magical staff which has a variety of powers that will help you on the way. If you like Zelda games, you will love this game just as much. There are some flying missions involved as you travel from world to world...but they're terribly easy and pointless. You'll have to avoid some astroids and such, some small fighters, but the flight missions are nothing like they were in the original game. Some people might be turned off by the addition of this little dinosaur who follows you around like a dog, but it's very cool. You'll control him and he is vital to helping you through the levels. He'll dig in certain spots, breathe fire, stay and hold down a switch for you...it's quite cool trying to figure out how to beat certain puzzles, using the variety of items and powers you have. The game is also pretty long and doesn't get too repetative with the exception of the ocassional backtracking. All in all, it's a great game that could have been an excellent game had the flight missions been better executed.Lire l'avis complet...

Good Game, Buy it if you don't already have it

The game plays more like a 3D Zelda adventure title than a Starfox space combat game, but in that respect it's a pretty good game. The graphics were great for Gamecube's day and the game introduces Krystal, my personal favorite character of the entire series. The staff combat, while repetitive, is addicting and cool, featuring impressive and satisfying spins and twirls. The game follows the Zelda style to a T, complete with dungeon quests, village overworlds, a shop (featuring a memorable shopkeeper who you haggle with), and an annoying sidekick (surprisingly not Slippy). Oh, and speaking of characters, Falco doesn't appear until the very end. Ah well.
The game does feature some space combat, but very little and nothing memorable. The staff is the game's main feature; you upgrade it with new powers as you progress. SFA's music is especially good, coming from the amazing team at RARE (the same group that did Donkey Kong Country, Banjo Kazooie, Goldeneye 64, and Perfect Dark). While there are some obvious flaws in the game (there appears to be a boss battle that was removed at the last minute) overall it's a great title and worth getting for a Nintendo or Gamecube collector.

Great game, I recommend this title for adventure fans out there

If you are a fan of Metroid, Zelda, and Star Fox this game is for you, if not look elsewhere as this game is not your typical Star Fox Game.

I usually love adventure games and this is no exception. I love the style and the take on Star Fox as a whole. It builds the series to a more personal level. Slippy still sucks, and the flight scenes are fairly good.

Overall I cannot stress how this is not a true Star Fox game when compared to the original or 64. However, it is a great game in its own rights so check out a youtube video of it and try it out yourself!

Cool world to explore!

I've played three starfox games all the way, Adventure, Assault, and Command and have thoroughly enjoyed all of them! I am not too into the RPG/collect-a-thon video game genre but this game has some great parts that make it worth playing until the end. The worlds are cool and the character interactions are fun. I found a few of the puzzles to be kind of annoying (there's one where you have to rapidly press the same button that took me like 15 tries). Overall, pretty cool but I mostly got the game because I was interested in exploring the world of Dinosaur Planet. Lire l'avis complet...

Over Joyed with Game and Purchase.. . .. Definately WILL buy more!!!!!

Surprised me when it arrived. Yes, I was expecting it, but for some reason I was expecting it to be in a case of some sort or other. To my satisfaction it worked PERFECTLY! and I must admit that I ended up playing it for several hours in attempt to rediscover the game. I was used to the STARFOX from long ago on the much lesser systems. Back when it first came out or was released. I was THRILLED upon discoveing that this version is so much BETTER than described! Thanks massively more than previously imagined! U R The Best Around. I cannot believe that U wanted to Get RID of this game. Because I found it overwhelmingly and delightfully satisfying! To No End!
Always,
LeAnne

Star Fox Adventure for Wii

I bought this game for my 14 year old son. He loved playing it, and I loved watching him play it. I was like a story unfolding as he played. There are different dinosaurs and other creatures, and different "worlds" in which missions have to be completed. There is a story line and a damsel in distress. I do not think that any part of it would be inappropriate for children of any age, however it may be a bit difficult, in some spots, for youngsters who are not very experienced with video gaming yet. It took my son about 1 week to beat the game (most of them he beats in 1 or 2 days). I am going to have to get him some harder games! Star Fox Assault was not as good. They should have stuck to this format when they continued the Star Fox series. Good game!Lire l'avis complet...

Review of Star Fox Adventures

A pretty fun game. People who liked any of the Legend of Zelda games will feel right at home in Star Fox Adventures. Unfortunately the combat can get a bit monotonous and ends up consisting mostly of button mashing, but the game has some great puzzles and other unique and awesome features that more than make up for this. A good buy for anyone young or old!Lire l'avis complet...

Star Fox Adventures: The Black Sheep of a Great Franchise

Many people, before this game was known to be the black sheep of the Star Fox franchise, went into this game expecting Star Fox 64 Part 2. However, as everyone knows, that isn't what happened. What everyone got was an action-adventure game, and a great one at that. Going in to this game not expecting Star Fox 64 2 will make the game infinitely more enjoyable.Being that this wasn't initially made to be a Star Fox game, some adjustments had to be made considering that this was originally going to be a similar game titled Dinosaur Planet with Star Fox slapped onto it, the game feels a little bit different but there are Arwing sections that will leave you wanting more, but thats not what this game is. This is a great action-adventure game once one gets past the fact that this a Rareware Action-Adventure game that, despite what most say, is not a bad game. I recommend this to anyone who likes action-adventure games, enjoys Star Fox, or has a Gamecube.Lire l'avis complet...
