The best music DVD I've seen for ages.
If you are at all interested in the music performed in the 1960's, or more specifically, the recordings made at Tamla Motown, then this DVD is an absolute must. As a young teenager I worked on Sundays in a record shop in Brick Lane, London. I had at that time an enviable collection of Tamla records - every one produced during that time. Despite this, I never realised who the session musicians were - The Funk Brothers. This DVD tells the tale and explains why the 'Tamla Sound" was so unique and consistent. Some of the old classics are reproduced by more recent artists who, whilst faithfully delivering the great songs, deliver them with just a little bit of their own input - much to be admired. To see these great musicians called The Funk Brothers still in action and learn about those who are no longer with us, is a real treat. Don't hesitate to buy it, the picture and sound quality is superb. So if you've taken the trouble to read this review, you must be a Tamla fan - just buy it. By the way I gave all my Tamla 45 collection away to a god friend as a gift years ago - hmmm I sure regret that act of generosity now.Lire l'avis complet...
A movie about unsung heroes
Awesome movie about the unsung heroes of the Motown era. Mixed with live clips from the show where the Funk brothers performed again after decades of not playing together.

Standing In The Shadows Of Motown (DVD)
The movie is the great story about the worlds most successful music machine from Detroit, Motor Town.
If you have the least interest in music, listening, playing or just like modern culture history, get this disc now. If you play an instrument and like the motown bag, this is a must have.
I will never sell this disc.Lire l'avis complet...

If you are a fan of motown, you will find this dvd very entertaining. It tells you all about the funk brothers, who back in the day not alot of people knew about.
