True Sony Component Cables are DEFINATELY worth the money

I used mine 2-3 times and now after trying it on the 3 the flat screens I own the cables now do not work and the picture is in black and white. Changing the settings on the console or the television doesn't matter. The televisions wont recognize it as component just av and the picture shows b/w. Also incase you think you can get a slightly crisper picture out of a ps1 game, bad news on a ps1/ps2 component wont show picture at all for ps1 games. Almost Perfect

The product arrived ahead of time, and it hooked up fast. The plug was a little bigger than the original, so it was a snug fit. It hooked up quickly, and the audio is good. The picture is a vast improvement over my RCA set, but the only problem I've seen so far is that there's a bit of a shadowy pinkish hue to most of the TV. Ps2 games look great on a modern tv.

Exceeded My Expectations

I got a new spare LED HDTV and decided to break out my old Playstation 2. I knew the picture wouldn't be as clear as my Playstation 4 or even my Playstation 3. But it was so horribly blurry that it was giving me eye strain.

Was it really this bad back when it was our main video game console? Was it because we played on standard def TVs and didn't know any better? Was there anything I could do?

Some research revealed that the issue was with the standard composite AV cable that came with the PS2, and that a component AV cable would make a noticeable difference. And that it needed to be an official Sony cable, not 3rd party.

As the PS2 is considered an obsolete console at this point, finding one in new condition is difficult and will cost you a pretty penny. I was thrilled to come across this cable at a nice price, and in like-new condition.

When I hooked it up and powered up my PS2, I was astounded at the difference this cable made! Words were crisp and clear, colors were brilliant. With a tiny investment, my PS2 was usable and enjoyable again. Worth every penny.Lire l'avis complet...

Subjective for direct to TV, Highly recommended for Framemeister

I got to buying an official cable when I noticed 3rd party ones I bought were having "sync distortion" like issues happening, image jumping around on my Framemeister.

The official cable has no issues whatsoever with the Framemeister, perfect stable image, so for anyone who uses a PS2 via Framemeister, I highly recommend going for an official cable instead if you want a stable image.

But as far as directly into a TV or capture device, it's entirely subjective. Overall, the picture quality isn't that much different between the official cable and all 3rd party cables I tried. There's no sharpness or colour loss. The only difference I see is that the 3rd party cables had a dithering texture added over certain colours while official cable was clean.

Unless you really get bothered with dithering on colours, it really comes down to how much you're willing to spend on an official cable. If budget is a concern and not using a Framemeister, any 3rd party cable will do you perfectly fine when directly into a TV and still delivers a much better picture than Composite/Yellow AV.Lire l'avis complet...

Best Image Quality for Your PS2

If you want to get the best image quality out of your PS2 then getting these cables is a quick and cheap solution.
Another great feature is that these cables also work with your PS3.
Not worth the $24.99 retail price, but vendors on Ebay are selling for about half the price. Great value at that price.
If you have an HDTV and continue to play PS2 games, I recommend getting these cables. The enhanced 480p resolution on games that support it (God of War games, Ratchet and Clank, Resident Evil 4, Burnout 3 Takedown, etc) GREATLY enhances the graphical quality. Even on games that don't support 480p, you will see better, brighter, bolder colors and contrast.

Okay, but only for NTSC-UC PS2 games.

If you have an NTSC-UC PS2 with an HD TV and plan to play only NTSC-UC PS2 games, this cord works just fine. It makes the games look crystal clear and beautiful on your TV. However, if you try to play any homebrew on a modded PS2 with it, the image only shows on half the screen and with PS1 games, the sound simply doesn't work. So, overall, it is not a very good value. Good HD Quality

Does the job.
