Great powerful flash!

This Sony HVLF43M flash will be used with my Sony HX400V bridge camera, primarily for wildlife photography. Initial results indicate that the power of this flash enables me to take long telephoto pictures of small birds, which both stops the action/movement of the bird and also gives enough light to decrease the lens diaphragm/increase the f-stop. This results in higher depth of field and a sharper photo. Use of the flash is rather intuitive and consequently leads to a fast learning curve. High Powered Flash!

One of the best flashes Sony has to offer. Very powerful unit and very user friendly. Love the LED light and wireless feature which allows user to shoot from different angles. When used with rechargeable batteries, battery life between 200 - 250 flashes can be obtained per charge.

Useful, but has much things that must be fixed

Great moments of this light are Led light (but i thought tha it would be more powerful), Quick Shift Bounce, great wireless control, power of flash light is incredible. I didn't expected such power from 42 flash.

Moments that need to be fixed - hot shoe lock - it's too easy to unlock flash with a little wrong move. The second is overheating and it really kills. After 25-35 flashes it overheats and it needs about 3,5-5 minutes to get cool. i am a reporter and time means everything to me. I used a samsung 42 flash before and nothing ever happened with overheating, but samsung flash does not move to the left-right sides, so i bought sony flash for my a77m2. It is much more expensive than samsung flash, but unpleasant things are too serious to post "it's excellent".Lire l'avis complet...

Awesome flash

I really like this flash. It is simple to use and what I like most about it is the way the head tilts and moves from side to side. Buying the value kit was a plus because I did not have to buy batteries or an omni-bounce. It also came with a triple shoe mount bracket and a soft box diffuser. I have not used any of these extra items yet, but they will be there for me to use when I do.

Great mix of high output and affordable cost

This is the best flash for the amateur photographer. There are more expensive units with higher power, but those appeal to the pros who will be shooting weddings many times a week. If you are an advanced amateur, this is a great companion to the Sony cameras with the Multi-Interface hot shoe. Recycle times will vary with settings but I found that I almost never had to wait for the flash to recycle. I really also liked the High Speed Sync (HSS) setting which allows the use of higher shutter speeds while using the flash. I do a lot of photography of adoptable dogs in shelters and you have to use higher speeds to stop the images as they seem to be always moving. Flexible flash for Sony cameras

I use this flash on my Sony a7II, a99 and a3000 cameras. It is easy to take vertically framed shots and maintain good lighting. The Quick Shift Bounce system allows you to pivot the flash at 90 degree angle. No bracket is needed. Simply rotate the flash with your hand. Just wish it would accept external battery pack. It would be a perfect machine gun flash for long photo events. As it is I will probably carry many extra ni-cad batteries because it is so convenient to rotate from horizontal to vertical. I use a Rogue Flash bender with it.

Great Flash

Compact and powerful flash for the Sony Alpha series

Coming from a Canon 580exii, I wasn't sure the Sony HVL-F43M would give me similar results--but it has! I'm a little concerned about the non-metal foot of the flash not being durable, but it handled my first event shoot on the a6000 like a champ. I haven't used it on the A7R yet, and would probably only use it off-camera with that body. So far, so good!Lire l'avis complet...

The F43M is an affordable, and easy to use flash. The ability to rotate the flash is truly helpful in capturing the proper lighting for your images.
