A great point and shoot with a lot of options.

I have had this camera for a month or so, and have used it many times. Some learning and some for my newsletter. The resolution is excellent. A great camera, very easy to use, high quality and cheap!

Great camera, i bought this camera because five years ago I had a SONY DSC-S40 with 4 Mpix and i loved that camera, the pictures always looked great!. Then I had a Kodak 8 Mpix cheap camera, but quality never compares with Sony CMOS Sensors... based in these two experiences, I decided to buy this 6 Mpix camera and I'm very happy and satisfied.
The picture quality is superior than 8 Mpix from Kodak!!!

The file size and quality is perfect, no large files getting full my hard disk.

But I have to tell this! this toy may be better:
- The video resolution is too low. 320 x ? the videos are very bad quality.
- You can't turn off the screen to save battery (in the DSC-S40 you can!)
- You don't have options for zoom while taking video.
- The focusing time, the time betweeen point and shoot may be too large! Yo can't use this camera to capture a very fast moment! (AN O.V.N.I.!!!, a blooper!, a very fast funny escene)
- The power consumption ia too high, you will need a very high capacity rechargeables batteries, but is very easy to get two AA batts :-) This is a point to his favour! AA BATTERIES! Yeah!

In general, if you want a high quality, durable and cheap camera, this is a very good option.
Very very easy to use, incluse for my 2-1/2 years old daughter! :-) she loves the big screen... but confuse the iluminated POWER ON button with the SHOOT Button, jejejeLire l'avis complet...

best camera for your money

I decided to buy this camera because my older camera was becoming very out dated, taking slow pictures, small lcd screen ect... I chose this camera because I am alrerady familiar with sony cybershot functions and love what options it gives, easy to figure out with out having to look it up in the manual- this model was a very good amount of megapixel for just the right price, I am very happy with my purchase, being a seller ( as well as a buyer) on ebay, I use my camera almost every day, I like the way it holds a charge for a long time, you can add memory, rotate or resize your picture right from the lcd menu!! a great deal

I brought the sony cyber shot camera with 6.0 megapixel as a Christmas present. I recieved the camera fast in the orignal package unopened! We used it on Christmas and it surpassed any expectations i had. It is by far the best purches i have made to date on ebay. The camera was easy to use with a large display screen. great features and easy to use, best digital i've owned

We'vw had this camera for about five months now, and I must say I like it very much!
it takes great shots and has a bright flash. outside photos come out beautiful! we are planning a trip to the Virgin Islands in September, so hopefully we can post some pics for this review for you!

the timer functions are easy to use, and, with one of those spider tripods, you can set this camera up just about anywhere! I personally love the two different twilight modes for taking night/sunset/storm pics.

Small and easy to use

Purchase an used one as a replacement for an identical camera that my wife likes because it is small, lightweight and she already knows how to use it. Old one finally wore out and this one is in much better shape. Only issue with the camera's design is, if you drop it, it can chip one corner of the battery cover causing it to not fully lock in place. Great camera for a great price!

I like the SONY cameras so this one was the best one for the price.
My previous camera was the P10, a super cam, but this one I feel is even better. It has 6.0 megapixels, a big 2.4" screen, small size, & it takes good pics! I'm surprized no one has a review for it yet. I guess because its still a new model. I dont think you can get SONY quality at this price for any other brand cams out there. sony cybershot dsc-s500 6 meg

very easy to use ,was purchased for an older person (82) that wants to take digital pictures with ease of controls..the only drawbacks are that it uses bateries instaed of the power cell. But to it's favor is it's simplicity of use and wide screen formatLire l'avis complet...

Great camera, Great Price

I really like this camera. It's easy to use and takes great pics. It's small and compact. This is my first Sony camera and I think I'll keep using Sony from now on.
