Excellent mirrorless with advanced eye detection focus but missing advanced shooting functions
The Sony Alpha A7iii is an outstanding mirrorless camera with leading-edge eye/face detection auto focus. Those were deciding factors for my purchase. What leads me to downgrade my evaluation from 5 to 4 stars is that compared to my Nikon D750 DSLR there are *many* features that are missing that would have been easy to include, but just were not. Fore example, a capability to take n exposures at a selected interval, exposure bracketing function, focus stacking, etc.
So while the camera is definitely a "good camera" and I'm glad I bought it to gain the advantages of mirrorless and advanced eye focusing, I am missing some of the very nice features that I found useful on the Nikon D750.Lire l'avis complet...

Best bang for your buck
This is the best camera you can get for the money. Its super easy to use and also has a lot of features. The image quality is excellent and the new color science they have in the A7iii is outstanding.

Excellent photo quality. As an amateur photographer the amount of features can be overwhelming. A lot of features in a packed size.
Great camera, great features, and for the price I got it for, you can't beat it. If there is a con, I would say the viewfinder can be better. Being a mirror-less camera the viewfinder isn't as sharp as a traditional DSLR. That could be improved on with a sharper image. Overall perfect experience!! My camera had an “accident” and I needed to get one asap for baseball games I was paid for, he wasted no time got the camera right away and I’m shooting the games right now!!! A very good buy for its price.
Pros: not heavy, solid body qualitym low noise at high-iso, nice colors, very nice viewfinder and display, much better battery life than a7 II. Video quality is also stunning. Great autofocus for both photo and video. Two card slots (still, one is UHS-I which may be a problem for someone, not for me).
Cons: compared to my old a700, it is smaller and needs a vertical grip so you could hold it with all your fingers :) Also, lacks a couple of switches: metering mode and focusing mode. In fact, it only have buttons, no switches, which sometimes may slow you down.Lire l'avis complet...

As good as everyone says it is
You shouldn't be purchasing a camera of this caliber and price without having done your research so there's not much I have to add here. The A7iii is a beast. I personally purchased it to succeed my NEX-7 so I've been a Sony mirrorless fan since day one.
