A note of caution: this lens will not auto-focus with the older, Minolta (except D version) teleconverters, as the lens has its own focusing motor. Excellent description

It is a fantastic lens, when the weather warms I will give it a more vigorous test. I am trying to see if I can replace my prime lenses on extended trips with 3 variable focus lenses.
