Sony brand vs generic brand

I experienced that this particular Sony battery that I purchased was not had much capacity hold more voltage than generic brand. with full charged on Sony battery, its capacity shown on my camcorder only 2 1/2 hrs use. compare to generic brand, its capacity can be used up to 4 hrs. AND price WAS MORE CHEAPER than Sony battery..
I would go with generic brand for the future to save money and its capacity longer use.Lire l'avis complet...

Great Battery

These are great batteries with the info feature built in to give you feedback on the amount of time you have left in the battery so you don't run out while recording. They are also small enough to make them easy to carry one as a spare in camera bag.Lire l'avis complet...

New camcorder battery...not so new. Doesn't work.

I would have great things to say about this product if it worked. The contacts that make the electrical connection with the camcorder are worn and don't make contact. There should be no gaps between each set of contacts, yet there are large gaps on this one. Basically, I was sold a bad battery that was marketed as being new. The packaging was damaged on the two batteries I purchased but they both charged up fine and have been working well in my Sony cx190. The FV50 is lightweight allowing us to enjoy our small handycam without added bulk.

Poor Quality

The battery fit well and appeared to be an exact copy of the one that came from the factory with the camera. After following all instructions with the first use, charging, and maintenance of the battery, this battery does not hold a charge for even half as long as the factory one. It makes a decent backup just in case your other one get slow. You can only use this for about 30 minutes at a full charge though.Lire l'avis complet...

I am going to Europe next month, and like to have a back up battery for my video camera... I bought 1 last year, also.. You can never have too many back up batteries, when you are going somewhere, when you don't have the ways or means to charge batteries... I have always used this brand, for my Sony camcorder.
