Best Sonic game of its time!

Im a Sonic gamer and have played lots of Sonic games but this is by far the best, I also played the wii version of Sonic unleashed before I knew about this one and trust me its no were near this. In Sonic unleashed wii version its more mission based and not very much detailed in the levels as much as this version, and its also not as much of a challenge. However, in the cutscene after werehog Sonic defeated Eggman right before dark Gaia if you look in Eggmans egg mobile you can see a dreamcast, dreamcast remote and games, is this in the Xbox version well I have not gotten to that part yet but its still way cool to see! I have also known that in some cutscenes things have been edited by Nintendo, Im guessing to fit more of there game play style. They also shortend the levels like when Tails is surrounded by bad guys Sonic just goes through the level and it shows the next cutscene, or the fact that they split Eggmanlands levels... In Xbox 360 its more for exploring, talking to people to get missions, longer more challenging levels, harder bosses, more details, personally I think this versions faster and more smooth when moving and theres even two parts were you get to fly the Tornado! I dont know why the wii versions more popular Im guessing its because its Nintendo. I havent beat this game yet, Im at Eggmanland, but so far its the best Sonic game I have and totally recommend it to others!Lire l'avis complet...

The best Modern Sonic game of all time!

By far the best modern Sonic game of all time! The speed of the daytime stages keeps you on your toes while letting you break the sound barrier to your heart's content while the night time stages provide a challenging beat 'em up experience complete with collectibles, RPG elements, and exciting hand to hand combat as you choose your strategies wisely while fighting hordes of enemies at a time. Combine that with an amazing soundtrack, superb level design, stellar animation and a compelling storyline, and you get arguably one of the best games the Sonic franchise has to offer.Lire l'avis complet...

Sonic Unleashed: A Diamond in the Rough

Sonic Unleashed is looked upon as one of the lesser titles in its franchise. When this game was released, it didn't necessarily receive that much positive remark from both critics and fans (at least the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions). For some strange reason, the Wii and PS2 versions of this game are looked upon as superior than the former versions. Why? The levels are a bit bland in the low-res versions, there are many more Werehog stages than Hedgehog stages, and you have to play the same levels over and over with new objectives just to complete the story. Thankfully, none of this is present in the hi-def versions of the game. High-speed action is what Sonic does best, and there's tons of that here in his Day stages. Levels such as Empire City and Cool Edge are perfect examples of just what a Sonic game can bring with fantastic level design, alternate pathways, shortcuts, and just pure spectacle and magic all around that Sonic is known for. And then comes what makes this game sort of a black sheep, the Werehog. I will say this right now, IT IS NOT BAD. THE WEREHOG IS NOT. BAD. I legitimately like the Werehog as it provides a change of pace from the crazy high speeds of Sonic and not to mention some sweet jazzy tunes~. There's some pretty good level design for a slow-paced platformer and tons of goodies and secrets to find now that you can take your time with these levels. The only gripe I have with them is the battle music playing over and over, but as I take my time and explore these levels for hidden secrets, they never really bothered me all that much as I was having too much fun! All and all, Sonic Unleashed is a pretty solid experience and extremely underrated and overlooked by its future brethren. It provides a nice amount of challenge that a lot of Sonic games lack in comparison. If you like running at blistering speeds and/or a beat-em-up puzzle-solving type of gameplay, then Sonic Unleashed is definitely what you're looking for. I highly recommend picking this game up if you come across it, especially so with the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.Lire l'avis complet...

AMONG TOP 3 SONIC GAMES!

This is among my top 3 Sonic games ever created! It entails on a huge journey that involves Sonic going from place to place, completing missions in bringing the planet back together.

You see, Robotnik is at it again! He wants to split the planet apart by depleting the power of the Chaos Emeralds. In addition to that, Sonic got a curse from the depleting process where, at night, he turns into a werehog. Now you can play as Sonic the Werehog at evening to beat the evil genius.

I know what you viewers are thinking. You are thinking "Well wait a minute, didn't Game Informer rate the game 6 out of 10?" That is true, they did. They rated this beloved game way below what it well deserves by any standard.

I think what happened was simply this: they did not "really" play the game and expected too much from it.

First off, let's get into the gameplay. In general, the controls are pretty darn easy! During half of the downloads during the gameplay, they show you how to do a move. With this in mind, memorizing is pretty darn easy. For example, Sonic's moves: A is jump, X is attack, and B is duck. Is that easy enough? Yes. Just practice is needed, like most adventure games.

Some other gamers might get frustrated with the conrols, but that is the way video games have always been. Remember when Pac-Man died and it made you angry? Remember when Mario died and it made you angry? Remember when Banjo n' Kazooie died and it made you angry? Once again, practice is needed!

Graphics? Excellent! It really feels like you are actually there with Sonic. The texture and coloring are well done. It kind of reminds you of being a child and remembering Sonic not what he WAS, but what he SHOULD be.

His werehog look, believe it or not, is even better! He looks and plays very differently, but after getting used to it, I ended up loving it. You can do punch combos on enemies like Y,X,X or X,Y,Y or X,X,X or Y,Y,Y and more. His personality is a little too similar to his counterpart, but that can be overlooked.

The challenges present many obstacles for players, and keeps going on 'till end. I still haven't done everything on the game, and some of it is hard. So, if you are an adult and want some good challenges, then you've got it!

Easy controls, good graphics, challenging courses, I woulhave to say that this game is pretty dang good! There are a couple of little things in the game that hinder it, but they don't need investigation. Buy this game for a child, they'll love it. Especially since much of it refers to the Sonic X series.

Very disapointed in the controls.

This game has lots of cute graphics and should be good for the kids.
I certainly enjoyed the old 2 dimensional versions on the old Sega player.

With the new Sonic Unleashed game: The first 3/D level with the original Sonic character was fun. Then you get the new feathered sonic and that is when the problems begin.

I am a 3/D game player today. I am used to flight simulators where you push the stick forward to go down. This is the same for me with shooters and camera angle.

Unfortunately with Sonic Unleashed there is no way to invert the vertical access. This makes it very difficult for me to play. Another huge problem with this game is the camera angle control. In some locations it works fine and in others it does not. Not only that, when the game is controlling the camera angle it will change by it’s self right in the middle of walking a plank. This results in having to push the move forward stick in constantly changing odd directions just to go in a strait line. Worse yet: When playing against the boss in the second level, you cannot even turn the player or the camera angle so that you can get a good look at your opponent. I moved everywhere possible. The only time you can see the level boss is when you are right in his face. The rest of the time the wall or the camera angle blocks the view. It not only makes it near impossible to see the boss, it also makes it near impossible to see your character as well. This got me so aggravated that I simply quit playing the game and gave it away.

Classic Sonic with a twist!

There is so much in this game that you can never get bored! This game is classic Sonic mixed into an adventure game. Beautiful graphics and atmosphere that has you constantly discovering. There is a great deal of interaction with the characters you meet while going about the game and puzzles to figure out but good ones, not monotonous. Definitely a must have game!Lire l'avis complet...

Late to party with this game but it’s way over performing my expectations for a title that came out so many years ago!

Sonic unleashed is great

This is my favorite modern Sonic game. It truly has it all great visuals, gameplay, music and story. I highly recommend it to any Donic fan, and wish it was treated more fairly by reviewers.
