Exceeded expectations

When I saw the trailer for this film, it looked like another corny British comedy. The film itself is much, much better than that, as someone else has said it feels more like a Michael Gondry film. Very idiosyncratic, quirky and confident in what it does, with many laugh-out-loud moments. What I enjoyed most of all was how some really nice themes and subplots started to innocently dovetail with the story, never feeling contrived, or overly sentimental. There were some great touches where the writer/director chose to imply or suggest something without going overboard - which makes for a much more warming experience than the usual obvious and clunky approach in British screen writing. The acting was superb. This film will appeal to many, many people for different reasons - I just hope they are encouraged and inspired enough to go and see it. Son of Rambow is priceless

wonderful movie. it takes me back to childhood. reminding me not just of the fun, but of the challenges, problems, and heartaches and how rewarding it was to overcome them. but, mostly of the fun.

Not as simple as it would seem...

This completely original film is a real winner! It was excellently directed, written and stylized. The cast (mostly consisting of children) was fantastic. Cute and whitty!

So adorable, whitty, and even heartwarming. I thought it was a funny film that will be absolutely perfect for fans of Rushmore or Stand By Me. I didn't think I would like it, but it is actually a really good film. It has a cute plot about friendship and adventure, and I think you'd like it. kudos for son of rambow

this film was one of the most pleasant suprises of my movie experiences this year. i went with little or no expectations and i was so caught up in the characters and story that i hated for it to end. i have been so disappointed in the major film studios releases for the past couple of years that when a film of this quality comes out it is so wonderful that i want to keep my faith that there are more like it out there. the star of this movie has now released a new movie with michael caine called "is anyone there" that is worth seeing also.Lire l'avis complet...
