A milestone in gaming remastering

First and foremost I’d like to debunk the idea of “wasting money” on last generation’s games solely for the sake of replaying them in High Definition. I’ll be the first to admit that picture quality doesn’t make the game; but damn does it look purdy! The concept of remastering to keep up with the newest and most innovative consumer electronics is most certainly not a new idea.Take for example how far we’ve come in the home entertainment industry and how we have entered a 4th iteration within the last 30 years: VHS - DVD - Blu-ray - 3D. How many of us have replaced our movie libraries when VHS went by the side of the road and DVD was king? How many of us still own a VHS player? Now, with the advent and growing popularity of Blu-ray and the newly introduced 3D technologies, we seem to be cleaning house yet again. Is the gaming industry really any different? Would they be doing themselves (and us for that matter) an injustice by not following suit?

When it comes to the astounding remastering job done with The Sly Collection, I couldn't put off the chance to share my high satisfaction with it. This collection is more than a simple compilation as the likes of a trilogy, since it contains the three installments of the series. Actually it provides the thieving raccoon in HD, 3D, trophy support and even the realm of PlayStation Move by the means of mini-games.

Sanzaru Games was the one in charge of the work, which last worked with Sony on the PS2 port of High Impact's Secret Agent Clank. Sanzaru started out its work on the trilogy with Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, a game that was originally designed to be in 3D, but ultimately only shipped with select levels playable while wearing retro red-and-blue glasses. For this time around, all is there in the realm of the modern stereoscopic 3D glory. For instance, during an awesome battle against one of the game's boss fights, it had me squaring off against my foe in a bamboo forest. It was a good choice -- the green stalks really helped drive home the sense of depth, and the colorful, crisp HD visuals made it one of the better 3D experiences I've had with Sony's console.Lire l'avis complet...

Amazing collection for amazing price

Great collection — huge nostalgia factor, but the Sly Cooper games have always held a special place in my heart. Now, years later, I'm able to experience them once again for an amazing price in HD (720p) on a PS3. Amazing, fun, memory-creator, buy it!

I grew up with Sly Cooper. I remeber the first time I played Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Sly 2, and Sly 3 all for the first time, and those were great memories. This is the main reason I purchased this product. Not only does it come with all three of my all-time favorite games but they have all been remastered for your PS3 to create an even more enjoyable gaming experience. (If you have a 3D TV, this is also 3D compatible). I may seem like a big fanboy at this point but the Sly games are truly games for people who both grew up with them and people who just realized there was even a Sly video game series. The point is, these are great, enjoyable games that give you a break from all of that killing you have been doing in COD. Therefore, buy it! Sly Cooper is back for another go, but he looks better than ever

I absolutely cannot recommend this game enough. For a fan of the original PS2 games, (not the very first game though, that just seemed more like a bonus for me) seeing them remastered in HD with very easy trophies, in which I got the platinum trophies for Sly 2 and Sly 3 easily and within a few days, it's a dream. Plus, it lets you get used to the Dualshock 3 controller and it was helpful because right after I was done playing this collection I went straight into Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time, also a game I HIGHLY recommend for any Sly Cooper fan, it won't disappoint you unless you haven't played a Sly game before, because it's tricky to get into if you haven't already.Lire l'avis complet...

My boy has loved this game for years.

My son loved this game when he was around 9 or 10 years old, but he tossed it. Now at almost 13 years old, he's bought it again and loves it again.

Overview

Overall i felt the game was decent enough, the first story was a little "annoying" when it came to the way they set up the combat (you get hit you die kind of thing) made it feel harder than it should of been. There was no real "tutorial" on how to do certain things, just a lot of test n error till you got it right.

the second one added new combat system (actual HP) to which you really don't die from, but can fail certain aspects if you don't watch what you're doing.

Have yet to play the third game (as I have been working) so can't judge that just yet.

But from what I have played, it was pretty interesting, and enjoyed the game.Lire l'avis complet...

THIS SLY COLLECTION WOULD MAKE STALLONE JEALOUS

So smart to bring the old games back for trophies and unfinished business!
This is one of sonys brand name games. all quality here.
This will be a great collection for years to come.
Put this in the "must own for ps3" group.
Quality game play, Quality graphics, good Replay ability.

The Sly Collection plays just like its PS2 counter part, but in HD. I bought this product because at some point they are going to do away with PS2 games so they can sell PS3. The Sly Cooper series is my favorite game series of all time. When I found out they were making one for the PS3, I had to get it. I can't give a description on the move mini games, because I don't have the move controller. Over all this is a good game to have and a must have for a sly cooper fan.
