Amazing sub for the value and well built
Great sub woofer!!! I added this to a custom built skar audio kerf ported box in a ford explorer xlt. I left the radio stock and added a kicker smart loc and a lci line driver . I tapped into my two front speakers for the loc. I also added infinity kappa series highs all around and an additional 6.5” mids in custom boxes for additional clarity. I powered those with an autotek 1200 watt amp. I also powered this sub with 4 gauge wire and 150a fuse and a ct sounds 1500.1 mono block and wired this sub to 4ohm. (I was going to do 1ohm but I had already ran 4 gauge wich can’t handle the power a 1ohm load requires). I have my gain 3/4 to max and tuned to 40hz and subsonic on minimal and I haven’t added the remote bass knob yet. I can tell you this sub hits hard and clear has great bass response to all genres of music. This sub will 100% tear up a small crappy car or truck. I had an alpine type r sub before this and that was loud but not like this.! The craftsmanship on this sub is incredible for the price. The motor is heavy and basket solid the cone is well constructed the dust cap is solid as well and rubber surround is thick. The terminal connections are spring loaded and durable and the wires from the leads are braided and thick as well. Best BOOM for the buck!
These things have POWER. I upgraded from a pair of jl 13w0s, and the difference is phenomenal. They take lots of power and do best in a tuned slot port around 34.8hz. If you want guranteed power and head turning ground pounders, get four of these. You will not be dissapointed. Be ready to spend big on amps, these things are hungry. Best sub I ever had
I been thru plenty subs but skar delivers. I’ve had punch, kicker, pioneer, and many others. Other than a solo baric sub, this skar was the best I ever had. Very good speaker
