A challenging film about personal transformation and the strength to overcome religious boundaries.
Very well directed and acted Scorsese Film. Liam Neeson, Andrew Garfied and Adam Driver all offer superior acting with excellent Japanese actor Issei Ogata!!! Superb!

Great Movie
Story is rather heavy for those with religious beliefs but it was presented just as history taught of the Jesuit priests expectations to bring Christianity to Japan and the brutality they faced. This movie kept my interest thru-out.
This movie was very informative, educational and suspenseful. I was brought up Catholic and could relate to all the feelings and beliefs these people had. It also showed the hypocricy of having to confess to a Priest. You need to watch to the very end or you will miss the most important part of the message this movie is conveying. Not something I would watch again.
Based on year's around 1640 in Japan showing the persecution of the Christians & missionaries.
The actors give great performances.
I disliked the subject of the film.

Interesting,but sad history lesson!
Very long movie. Some graphic Japanese torture. Acting was very good! A history in Christianity in the 1600's.

Gret Movie
This movie is really good. My husband and I enjoyed watching it. It have happy moment but also sad ones. It's a must see movie and I recommend it to everybody. I give it 5 stars.

A very dark movie. Very good for what it is but no joy or lightheartedness. Very hard to relate to the main character.
