Shooter (HD DVD, 2007)
Shooter is a movie about a U.S. trained sniper. He is trained to kill in order to protect different operations. He and his spotter and partner Donnie, who was killed three years ago, were on a mission in Africa. After the mission is over, they were abandoned, EXPENDABLE. After being abandoned, another firefight erupted and Donnie was killed. Bob Lee Swagger quit the business right after this, and the man who pulled the plug and left them behind came up dead one week later. Now, after three years, they are back again with a job that no true American could refuse. The President's life is in jeopardy. Suckered in one last time, it turns out to be another screwing! The man in charge is Danny Glover. Bob Lee finds himself set up and is accused of trying to shoot the president. His job was just to figure out how and from where a shot could be taken so that it could be prevented. The real target is an African Arch-Bishop who had knowledge of a massacre in Africa where over 400 civilians were slaughtered three years ago so that an oil pipeline could be laid. He was going to speak with the President and show proof of who was responsible. Unknowingly, Bob Lee and Donnie had covered he killers' escape. He was standing next to the President, and it was made to look like an attempt on his life. In the process, Bob Lee is shot, but gets away. His rifle and fingerprints were left at the scene. This is typical CIA work. Have an assassin do a job and right away, take out the assassin. Dead men tell no tales. Bob Lee gets to Donnie's ex-wife and with her help figures out what has happened. A young FBI agent who was in the area when the shooting went down, Nick Memphis, refuses to quit investigating the case. He knows that he is being set up and refuses to go down without a fight. Memphis teams up with Bob Lee to expose this plan. It includes former snipers, military leaders, and even a U.S. Senator. The ending is full of action and is enjoyable.Lire l'avis complet...
Great HD DVD
HD-DVD is encoded in High Definition 1080p format. The movie its sharpness, and eye-popping colors are just stunning. Black levels are inky with excellent grey shadow detail, and contrasts are deep. The movie itself is great and if you are already a fan of the DVD the HD-DVD is what you want. One problem with HD-DVD is that with the HD/Blu Ray debate some traditional stores are not stocking them until there is a clear winner. HD DVD Shooter

A great action movie, edge of your seat stuff
I was sort of putting off seeing this movie cause mark wahlberg but sure glad I watched it. What a great movie with no dull moments. Must see for anyone that has not watched the movie yet.

This was a really good movie. I rented it via Netflix. I like it so much that I decided to get a copy on eBay. Since I purchased an HD DVD player, the picture looks great.

the only thing I would of changed about this movie was Danny Glover. I don't not like the guy, he just didn't fit the role. Otherwise, the movie is awesome. I wish the dog didn't have to die though.Lire l'avis complet...

This is a excellent movie I already had the movie on standard dvd but with the HD DVD you can tell a big difference in the clarity of the movie and the sound.

Very realistic film depicting snipers. Acting is superb and entertaining...The High Definition makes this film even more enjoyable to watch! Definately recommend.
I had seen this on tv and knew I had to have it .
I wanted to be sure I could see this movie whenever. The last part makes me wonder whether anything like this is currently happening in our gov't today.
