Inspiring the Young to Imagine
I purchased this book because of the storyline and the fact that it won a Caldecott award. Granted those awards aren't everything that they're cracked up to be, but in this case I believe that they nailed it.
The story itself is a great one to read to children before bed time. One of those reasons being is that it is a very short read but also provides the glimpse into using one's imagination to pretend to see what the mice are experiencing. My 5 year old daughter took great delight in wrapping her mind around what blind mice would imagine the parts of an elephant to be.
The graphics aren't elaborate, but they are very colorful and simplistic. There isn't a lot to wonder from on the page and is good for keeping focus on the story.
The only reason that I rate this book as good instead of excellent is the fact that it is so short and simple. After reading it to my daughter twice she could practically recite it to me herself. I believe this book is a great once every other month read or for those with toddler-aged children.Lire l'avis complet...
An enjoyable read
This is a very good book with a good message. The mice use their senses to discover what something is. My boys liked this book very well.
