Sesame Street is great, but not much variety here

While it is great to go down memory lane and revisit the characters we grew up with, I was disappointed in the lack of variety. The extra features show the original pilot episode, which was an interesting watch (once) but not as good as the 70's episodes.

The skits are repeated in the same episode and in many of the episodes. I had hoped they would choose episodes with little repeats and show a bigger variety of the video bits.

I am not a fan of Snuffy, so I was a little disappointed that they chose the episodes with him to put on this collection.
I was hoping to get some Bert and Ernie dialogue, and more Cookie Monster.

I would prefer a collection which was bigger on variety and less just choosing 4-5 episodes to feature full length.

A little disappointed

A little disappointed in the content as it didn't go directly into the old Sesame Street dialogue, but included other information that wouldn't be entertaining to today's little people.

For the original Sesame Street fan

Good for younger children with some supervision

My husband and I love it. As the warning says at the very beginning of the video, there are a few pieces here and there that are not really suited for very young children. I guess that in the 70's they weren't pay as much attention to some issue as we do today. Read Before You Buy

I popped in the first DVD and it was episode 666. I was like WTF? It flashed 666 in big red letters before the episode. Out of all the episodes to chose from, why would they choose episode 666? I know it is just a number to some, but it really bothers me due to my religious beliefs. First disc only had one episode and next two had two a piece. It was fun watching episodes with son and he did enjoy them, but five episodes is kinda of rip off. I wish they made whole seasons of Sesame Street, that would be great!!!!Lire l'avis complet...

Such a great time to remember.

I'm in my 30's and I grew up watching Sesame Street pretty much since the mid 1970's. Watching these DVD not only brought back so many memories of eating cereal in the morning in front of the television with my little sister, but it reminded me where I may have received some of my current sense of humor. I really liked the old Sesame Streets that I watched when I was little so I bought this for my daughter. Its good but I wish they would put out full seasons instead of two or three from different years. It kinda skips around from one year to the next. GREAT but Not Enough Episodes

With OLD SCHOOL SESAME STREET DVDs, you just want more. Having nine or ten hours of stuff to watch just isn't enough. It's so imaginative, so much fun (I'm over 50, and so am harder to please than a child might be.) My only criticism is that there just aren't enough episodes for the money spent. Excellent Kids Programme!

Since my daughters love to watch the Sesame Street, I search on ebay to get on this classic special Sesame Street dvd for my own collection, since I was brought up with this kind of kids programme.
