Great Headphones for Drummers.

I buy these headphones (2nd pair) to use when playing drums. They have sound isolation of 32 dbs. That compares to the Vic Firth models that do about 25 and I think the sound reproduction is better. I have always liked Sennheiser particularly for their high end clarity. Don't get me wrong, they do bass and mid range well, also.
Usually priced around $100. I found my most recent pair for less. I am not bothered by the fact that they are not Bluetooth. I need phones that will plug in. The cord is coiled and heavy duty.
One negative. Plastic parts attach the ear can to the head piece. I accidentally sat on the first pair and broke off an ear can. I have other headphones that would have survived that but overall I prefer the benefits of the 280 Pro.

Excellent Value

You have to spend a lot more to get equal sound quality and comfort.

Excellent headphones, comparable in neutral, high quality sound reproduction to many $300 headphones.

If you plan to wear them for many hours at a time, do yourself a favor and spring for a pair of sheep leather replacement earpads (around $30). With these earpads these headphones become darn near as good as anything out there at any price.

But even with the stock earpads they are excellent.

Excellent tracking headphones. A great value.

Bought these for tracking vocals and other acoustic instruments. They have been great...last vocalist I recorded really liked the sound and feel. I liked how little headphone bleed I experienced. Very nice...especially for cost.Lire l'avis complet...

Awesome sound but loose fit.

I purchased this about a year ago used and LOVE the sound. They are a little on the heavy side, and slide. The extension brackets popped off (where you can control the fit over your head) but I think they were more for "aesthetics" than operations. The sound is really good. I'm not an sound engineer or have much experience with that outside of recording my songs and filmmaking. I know just enough to get the sound I want but not all the nuances and intricacies of it.

I bought it thinking it would automatically have an XLR but it's a regular 3.5 output so I had to get an XLR adapter . There's static and sometimes I get a slight headache if I wear the headphones too long. I think that's more about me not understanding "sound" and than the headphones. I mainly use these in my soundbooth for short projects like ADR or voice overs., as long term wear just isn't comfortable or healthy.

The best headphones for under $200 you will find anywhere.

For the price, these headphones are just awesome. I used them to edit video in the field. I need great sound and noise reduction. They just work.

Good set of reference headphones

Love the neutral sound from these, surprisingly light enough that you could consider them for on the go use if you could manage the cable well. Sealed in sound from those sturdy closed backs and reasonably comfy headband to boot that doesn't clamp too much onto your head, but just enough to really let the audio fill in with little interference from the outside until you cut the audio.Lire l'avis complet...

Great-sounding vise

Sound quality is great, but after about ten minutes of wear, these cans hurt! In fairness, they’re not any worse than my Koss Pro4A’s as far as comfort, and I wore those as a radio station DJ in the ‘80’s. But I wouldn’t want to wear them while mixing a live for 2 hours. I may try to use a heat gun and bend the plastic headband a bit - hopefully I won’t ruin the headphones in the process.Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent studio headphones

Excellent cans for the studio, decent sound isolation without IEMs. Fairly flat response for a headphone at this price point. I have used various versions of the HD280 for over twenty years, and I'll continue to use them. Enjoy!Lire l'avis complet...

Wonderful

I have owned these for quite a few years, and they're close to perfect for corded headphones that cost less than $1K. This pair was for my wife, who builds and edits video presentations. She loves hers too.Lire l'avis complet...

Not balanced correctly for live recording

Lots of people like “bassy” sound for listening and I get that. But when the bass is balanced in these headphones there is not enough bass in my B&W monitors. With my previous Sennheisers they were true to my high quality monitors. If you like a little extra bass for listening to your music you’ll probably like these.Lire l'avis complet...
