cinematography is beautiful, as we expect from disney. but the close-in footage of the racing horses is ground breaking. cameras are suspended from cranes, booms and poles stretched from driving vehicles, sometimes only inches from the massive beasts as they thunder around the dirt track. one cannot help but thrill to shots from cameras attached to the jockeys themselves, providing an exciting, unique perspective. exhilarating!

THE STORY THAT BRINGS YOUR FAMILY CLOSER

This film is a family unifier. It is a great story that just happens to be true.
The director, Randall Wallace, is a man of faith who does not shy away from what he knows to be the truth. The story reinforces the values you want your children to acquire. Honesty pay off; Honor thy father; nothing worth having is easy to get; stick to your guns if you know your right; Misfortune-- losing a coin toss-- could be the best thing that ever happened to you; put God in the mix and remarkable things happen.
The photography puts the viewer on the horse, on the track---the shots take your breath away while bringing your eyes those tears of joy.
The cast is perfect. Everyone looks just like you'd think they should look. Diane Lane is in, what I believe will prove to be, the role of her life. I don't like John Malkovich, however, here he is just right for the role of the experienced,respected trainor who loves horses & does his job with integrity.
And THE HORSE--"BIG RED".......PERFECT!!!

Great Movie!!

This is the first time I've seen this movie and I love it! It's based on a true story and I'm so happy that it had a happy ending. I also liked the fact that I got two types of discs for the price of one. The DVD disc was already clear and concise and I'm sure the Blu Ray will be even better. Great movie!Lire l'avis complet...

Great show to watch, especially if you remember Big Red at all! What an amazing horse!!!

Love and studied a lot recently about Secretariat, Big Red! The movie isn't a perfect copy, but pretty much all of the important stuff is. Besides that, the artistic licensing is good or entertaining, and does not detract from the over all story at all. Wanted a copy of this to watch when I wanted. I've watched the original Triple Crown and other races so many times that it's also fun for me to compare them to the movie.Lire l'avis complet...
