Sinead O'Connor was born to sing these songs. Her duet with Christy Moore on "Lord Baker" is the definitive recording of this piece. They live in the heart of this song. And even having said this, every other song here is perfection. She sings with such authority, tenderness, grace and perfect phrasing, it's as if she wrote these songs herself. It should also be mentioned that the musicians who back her here take this music to an amazing place. Definitive. Masterful Interpretation!

Soulful renditions of Irish classics, recorded in "defiance" of the corporate musical industry using a small studio and very little mainstream promotion. Definitely a low-key gem!
