This Seagate Hard Drive performs as good as, but not better, than any other hard drive. That is to say, it has tremendous storage capacity for a dirt cheap price, and will give good (speedy) performance until it begins to fill up. Really, don't even consider using this as a boot drive (the drive your operating system is on). Spend $65 for a name brand 256GB SSD, and then install this hard drive in a spare drive bay in your case. Load the operating system on the SSD and store your files on the hard drive. While you are at it, spend $75 on a 2TB USB hard drive and back up all your files to it. I've bought 6 of these. What they said, plus, Enterprise Grade is a big deal to me.
The other big factor is 128 MB cache. Bonus, great price for new (sold as open box)

flawless and imediately successful raid configuration

I installed 4 of these in a Dell G11 server as a raid 5. The success was immediate and they run like a charm.

It seems to be a pretty good HDD, I poped it into my custom PC and worked with no issues. nyaa-
NOTICE: This HDD does come to you in a RAW format meaning you have to go into "Disk Management", locate the RAW HDD, and convert it to NTFS before you can use it (which takes about a day to convert it BTW). nyaa-
