Seagate 2tb internal drive not so hot

I always went with Western Digital drives but this time I thought I would try out a Seagate drive. My mistake. I used it in an external enclosure for a backup drive on my Mac. It would mount for a few minutes and then eject itself. Could find any solution either on the net or through the Seagate company. It seems to work fine on my PC though.

It also is quite loud when running. After a few days I went out and bought a Western Digital Caviar Green 2tb drive and love it. Work great and it's very quiet.

The only reason I am not giving this drive a "Poor" is because I got it to work on my PC.

Great value and dependable performance for video.

Easy affordable extra/back-up memory.

We go through memory fast between digitizing our old cassette tapes, converting our CD's to mp3, scanning a century of photos and then there are the family movies. All of these things are very important to us. We can't keep everything on the main computer because we exceed our home computer hard drive space. We are able to store almost everything on one of these. We keep one at home to pull off of and then a couple of others with copies for back-up that we leave with family members in other areas. We had an external hard drive go bad once and lost a lot of pictures, a hard lesson to learn. You can buy storage cases for these making them great for offsite back-ups.
