Saving Fish From Drowning by Amy Tan

Amy Tan is my favorite author. She can weave a tale better than any writer I've read. Saving Fish is so intriging and informative about the land of Burma.
I feel like I've been there after she described the culture and politics.Lire l'avis complet...

A Gem

I played this during a long road trip. It was wonderful to hear the author read her enchanting work. It had great fully-developed characters, interesting insights into exotic parts of the world. I learned a great deal about the beliefs and politics.Lire l'avis complet...

It's like you were there

I instantly fell in love with this book and was unable to put it down from start to finish. I think she did a fabulous job in making the reader live vicariously through the traveling characters. There is just the right amount of romance, suspence, mystery, as well as a rich cultural background.Lire l'avis complet...

I liked Amy Tan's Saving Fish From Drowning.

I liked the story on dvd in my car. Amy Tan is a passable narrator, and an excellent writer. The story was very different from her first couple of books. I have read them all. Books on disc are great, as my commutej seems so much shorter now.Lire l'avis complet...

BORING!

I bought this book because I belong to a bookclub and this is one of Amy Tan's books that was chosen for this month.

Frankly, I found it grueling to read. I never passed the 1st chapter because it was so boring. I am a big fan of Amy Tan and have read all of her books but this one falls flat.Lire l'avis complet...

Not a good book in my estimate

I am in a book group it this book was recommended. I really did not enjoy reading the book because it was dragging in places and too much background info. Took too long to get to the point of the story.Lire l'avis complet...

Slow book

This book was very slow. About 25% of the book could have been left out. We read it in my book club and noone really enjoyed it.
