Huge Quad!
I bought a good working all original qrx-9001. I actually like the sound better on this compared to my g-7700. But compared to my other quad, a qrx-777 (qrx-7001) the qrx series kinda sound the same. But the higher you go the more wpc and power. Power is needed if you plan on running all 8 speakers- make sure they are 8 ohms.
These quads are great machines. They are huge and very heavy. At two feet wide they will not fit in regular stereo cabinets or racks and the weight will snap a shelf. Once a location is set, keep it there. Give it lots of room to breath. They can get hot.
These quads are known to have issues. Mine eventually died. No power, no lights, no nothing. To fix them is not a walk in the park. Technicians who have the experience and resources to commence with such a task are rare. Plus it's time consuming to do the work. Labor costs alone aren't cheap. Good luck finding parts too. Plan on spending over a thousand dollars to get it up and running properly and that's not including shipping, tax, handling fees, and the cost to buy a quad. Then you need the stuff to play 4 channel music and the music itself.

I have owned many vintage receivers, quad and stereo alike. This receiver, essentially 2 of the 9090, is one of the top 5. You will read all kinds of stuff online about all of the vintage offerings. The 9001 will have a power to feature ratio that outdoes them all. ALL VINTAGE receivers need work. (Period) why not get one worthy to put the money into? These have a power and bandwidth that surpasses the 50wpc rating. 1. Have the quad board pinned, 2. Do not run 4 ohm speakers while in powerx2 mode, and then...enjoy.
