What you aren't told is that it isn't ready to use - it requires activation, formatting and partitioning to be useful, and for me that took looking through the internet and YouTube and an external piece of software. Adding an SSD to an older laptop will breath new life into old hardware. SanDIsk has an excellent reputation in the flash memory market. This has excellent performance, much better than a hard disk. Sandisk SSD installation on my Laptop

Sandisk SSD's are based on the history Sandisk has on SD memories and flash drives. Sandisk is a subsidiary of Western Digital "WD". I think that Sandisk SSD drives have lower quality than WD drives that is the mother company of Sandisk.
