This is a perfect basic phone and is reliable.
This was actually the third Samsung SGH T301G that we have purchased.....obviously, we like the phone. This one was purchased to replace my husband's phone that took a dive, along with him, when he was broadsided in a kayak. The keys are a nice size for dialing and the menus are organized nicely. You can hear voices clearly and the ringtones are plenty loud enough when you set them all the way up in volume. We weren't looking for one of those "smart phones", so this "dumb phone" fits our needs just fine. If you plan on doing a lot of texting, you may want to upgrade to a different model. It's a bit cumbersome having to switch between modes to access the alpha characters, then numbers or symbols. Although there is a camera on the phone, I wouldn't ditch my camera. Some photos are good, others are not, so if you want a good snapshot of something.......use your camera. As you can see, we do like this product and we would purchase it again.Lire l'avis complet...
Samsung SGH T301G (TracFone)
This is about the 5th TracFone I have had. It is almost cheaper to buy a new phone than replace the battery. This is my first slider phone, and I like this! The camera is typical of all VGA resolution phones, producing almost un-useable photos. Does not take video. If you want a good phone that you use infrequently, I recommend this. If you want simplicity, this is your phone. It is the perfect model for me
Exellent phone, this is my second in a row of this model, and for me, simplicity is key. I don't need anything fancy, and therefore the browser feature on this phone is extremely pesky! I end up pocket dialing the browser and kill a few minutes. I just need to be careful and it is easily avoidable.
My line of work involves lots of dust, so I was concerned about the slider feature. Although my previous phone of this model slides rough, it still functions just fine! Samsung SGH T301G (TracFone)
I decided to buy this phone because it fit every need I had. Worked great when I first got it and upon activation I found that tracfone techs had a hard time putting my old number on the new phone. This phone was an upgrade. They really screwed it up and ended up sending me a new sim card that took 5 days to get here. They tried it again and after a total of 2 hours on the phone punching in codes it still did not work. They decided that the problem was with the carrier and the problem would be rectified with a replacement phone. 5 days later and my new phone showed up. It was not the same phone. They sent me a new LG220c and it is a better phone and it works great. They still could not put my old phone number on the new phone but after 10 days without my phone I was desperate to have my phone back. Moral of story is if you need your number ported do not buy this phone. They cannot make a port on a phone with a sim card. The LG220C is a much better phone and works very well. Outstanding phone.
It doesn't have as many features as a smartphone, but that is one reason I chose it. I wanted a phone I could talk on. I use my computer for messaging and internet. The bluetooth is only for connecting to a headset, and will not hook to any other device. That was the only thing I found a bit disappointing about the features.
The battery lasts 8 hours of talk time, 48 hours turned on playing with features without talking, and up to several weeks turned off. I've had it over a month, and have only charged it 3 times including the initial charge.
You can set any picture you take as a wallpaper, and any sound you record as a ringtone. It is durable(I've dropped it and stepped on it without hurting it.) It's small enough to be convenient, yet big enough to hold and use comfortably. I love this phone!Lire l'avis complet...
Samsung SGH T301G (TracFone)
I ordered two of these a couple months ago for me and my daughter. She is a texter and I just use the phone normally. I do use the alarm often and just lately used the camera. The sound quality is great, no dead spots so far. My daughter went to Texas and we spoke often with no problem. I'm in Indiana. I am thoroughly pleased with the phones and the service of Tracfone. This particular phone came automatically with Double Minutes for Life. It does do it. It doubles any minutes you put on it,there is even free minutes you can add with a promo code. You can find them online all the time. The phone displays a constant readout of the minutes you have and the time you have before you need to add more. The greatest thing with this phone is you never lose any of the minutes you buy as long as you don't let the time run out. Any amount that adds time, your existing minutes roll over and is added to the new minutes. Most of the Pay AS You Go phones to not do this. The phone is a Samsung and is a sturdy little slide phone. It has attributes of the expensive phones. You can browse the internet, etc. I paid $20 each for these phones but I've seen them sell for up to $40. I feel I got a really good deal. This phone is just what I needed and would reccommend it.
I had lost my older Tracfone and I wanted to upgrade to one that didn't pocket dial numbers. This on e has the slide screen and is very easy to use. It stays charged a long time as I don't use it every day. It has some features that I don't use but some people would I'm sure; such as the web browser and text messaging. A small price for all you get with this phone. .
My purchased phone came in sealed clamshell package with a charger and all paperwork. I at first was concerned to not see a "free 10 minute's" time card but after activating the phone ,which was very easy, a few minutes after the final step of turning off and then back on the phone not only did i get the free 10 minuets but that was doubled by the "double minutes plan" giving me a total of 20 minutes free. The phone its self is very nice being a budget phone and i found that i was able to open/slide it with one hand it was much easier to use two hands to avoid pressing keys by mistake. I did make a couple of test calls and found the sound quality was very good but my purchased phone was intended as a backup phone to put in my wifes car for whatever reason, be it she forgets her phone at home,broken,lost or whatever she will have this phone in her glove compartment if needed be it car trouble or whatever.

A great phone, triple minutes at a wonderful price!
I bought the slide phone to upgrade my existing cell phone.
I really like the slide feature instead of having to lock my phone to keep it from "surfing the internet".
It gets triple minutes, that means I get 1/3 more minutes for the same money that I was spending on double minutes.
My husband and I are elderly and don't need anything but a phone. We don't text, etc. but this phone is capable of all the other things other people need.

Very nice looking and easy to use phone. The menu is very intuitive and the phone (at least down here in South Florida) gets great reception and sounds very clear. It was very easy to add minutes and to download ring tones. The double minutes for life is great and it's easy to find discounted refill cards on e-bay and if you go to prepaidonline.com you can add minutes and always get bonus minutes. Usually 30-50 minutes.
