somewhat disappointed

Not as fun as Diablo 2 or Titan Quest. Gameplay is less intuitive and not as action packed. One nice feature is the availability of steeds or other transports which make movement much faster. You can also fight while riding.
There are numerous options for character development and many equipment and weapon choices. Seems like a cross between titan quest and the witcher. Mildly entertaing but I don't recommend. It just lacks something that is hard to describe and doesn't seem to flow smoothly.

This game is better than most new releases, both on screen and on paper.

This is a very good game, with an expanded map which allows you to complete side quests while farming for Gold and leveling up, so you don't feel bored like many people do when doing the same strategy in games like Diablo.

The graphics are something special, looking exactly like you would expect them to, instead of falling in love with the trailer and box art only to find out you're playing a stick figure holding a q-tip. What you see on the box is the quality you get.

The graphics for the game are so good in fact, that they rely on in-game action to portray the storyline. All cinematography in the game is your character, not cut-scenes. This is nice to see, but the character mapping could be better, as the characters sometimes struggle to get through doors in the cinematography and since you cannot control your character through this, you have to sit and bear it.

The game is a little glitchy, and it seems like the project got cut short so they didn't have time to fix these simple mistakes. From taking almost 20 minutes to navigate through a door or around a small cluster of rocks or a building, to being unable to talk to people while on your mount but able to open chests while on your mount, some things simply do not add up.

The map for the game is strange too. You will be led to believe that you can simply head north, but then find out that there are mountains in your way and you need to spend the time to get to the same point on the adjacent island to get past those mountains. You are also only able to pick one resurrection stone to activate at a time, causing some trouble if you wanted to get away from that point in the first place.

The sound for the game varies between excruciatingly annoying to pure bliss to your ears. The music for the game is very good, but the combat music is a bit much. It's not really necessary to have a heavy symphony style song playing when you're fighting ONE Kobold. The dialogue from NPC's and your character also range from good to horrible, as they sometimes say funny things, and their death sounds are just horrible, dragged out whines and groans... one "ARG!" is sufficient, instead of "Oooooooooooh! And it was only three days from my Birthday too!!!" Actual quote right there.

The quests are hearty, but I find there are far too many escorting quests. It seems like every other side quest you need to drag some person through the entire map, only to have to bring them back and forth three or four more times. The worst part is that 90% of them cannot fight, and take damage LIKE CRAZY. They follow slowly, and if there is a moster around they run around the whole map aimlessly until they get killed. Run out too far from them, they magically appear within your line of sight, normally right in front of a monster, ready to have their ass handed to them. You've got two choices with these escorting quests 1) Try to save them and fail, and 2) just run from point to point, killing whatever baddies you deem worthy.

Buy Within Your Region (and McAfee)

HUGE bugs as others have noted but the non-US version of this game isn't even playable for me--failed during installation. At first I thought it was only McAfee that didn't like a few files near the end of installation. I turned off McAfee anti-virus and installed it. I made sure all my drivers were updated. I installed the ActiveX that came with the game but the Sacred 2 publisher (Ascaron) game forum says specifically that if you play their game outside the region it was made for (I live in the U.S.) you will have problems activating/registering the game. Simply put, it won't run. Another important note, the game updater won't work even if you do get it to run. If you download the patches from the publisher, they won't install. There are so many tricks I would have to do to fool the game during installation that it's just not worth the hassle. This version should not be sold to U.S. residents. The eBay game broker I'm dealing with is going to hear a big protest. Summary: You're taking a HUGE chance (game bugs) when you buy this game anyway, but you're destined for failure if you're in the U.S. and buy the non-U.S. version on the cheap.Lire l'avis complet...

Needs an exterminator

I played the original a few years back and couldn't wait to try this one out. Boy was I disappointed!! The game itself is very good as far as content, character developement, and overall gameplay, I haven't tried multiplayer yet though. This game is sooooo buggy it's not worth playing till you get all the upgrades and updates available. I have 2.31, 2.34 won't install for some wierd reason, and it is much better. I still end up with glitches, mostly video, and a few lockups now and then. More often than not, while shutting the game down I will get a game server error and will have to use the task bar to shut it down all the way. The video problems range from enemy characters missing parts, or all of their bodies, just heads and weapons coming at me, to complete landscape areas missing or flickering in and out. Bridges and rivers are the biggest culprits with that. I have all the latest Nvidia drivers and have even tried the game on a different machine with similar results. Good luck trying to contact the developers, no contact or customer service info on the website for the game. I'll still continue to play as I've really gotten into the gameplay, lvl 32 and counting. Hopefully they will come out with a few more fixes and really get this working 100%.Lire l'avis complet...

sequel not always better

Maybe I'm expecting too much from the second series of this game. For me the first series of this game is still better, well despite the graphic quality off course this one are much better, but the SACRED 2 is a bit too slow in the story.
Still many bugs which sometimes annoying me when playing the game, they supposed to be learning from the past, likewise the previous series which still contains bug on their first release.

Secred 2, So much potential... so many bugs....

Sacred 2 could have been a very enjoyable game.

Unfortunately it is chalk full of very nasty bugs and DRM issues.

Apparently the released patches fix many of the bugs, unfortunately, even the patch is so buggy that a huge number of people cant even install it (I am one of them) but don't take my word for it, look to their own forums for evidence, it is full of "can't patch" posts. Half the posts in the tech support forums relate to not being able to update the game.

As of yet I have been ignored by email support and the forum seems to be ignored as well.

So in a nutshell, Its very buggy and cant be updated (by a great number of users). -as of 07-31-2009

Great addition to HACKnSLASH Genre.

I'm hack n slash type of player so this game brought a broad aspect to the hack n slash genre. Very large game and map. Not as detailed of a story as I would have liked. Seems to have much potential for replay value. Good by for the price.Lire l'avis complet...

Worth the money for the entertainment received!

Great game. Lot's of action but a great RPG at the same time. Huge, huge worlds. At least 60 hours play time. Choose from thousands of weapons, armor and magic items. Lots of depth and great entertainment. Graphics very good also.Lire l'avis complet...
