My Favorite Robot
The ice maker in my old faithful Amana fridge finally gave out after about a million cubes, and I put off ideas of fixing it because I didn't know where to start, but it turned out that this ice maker kit is the standard replacement for numerous legacy fridges. This thing is plug and play. Remove three screws holding the old ice maker in place, unplug the simple wiring harness, fit it into the new unit, and reinstall with the same 3 screws. The one page instruction sheet details diagnostic procedures and adjustments if needed. 30 minutes of installation time and bingo, you can hear the happy sound of your ice cube robot dropping fresh cubes into the hopper. consider ordering the power cord too. I have a Jenn Air refrigerator 5 years old. I got the ice maker and one end of my cord did not fit.
I had to because my Jenn Airre frig had a different connector. For the extra few bucks it can save you an extra week of waiting. The price of the ice maker is definitely a good deal. After getting the power cord that fits it works great. It has been 2 two weeks and it is cranking out the ice. A friend bought an ice maker from the local appliance parts store (he has the same fridge). He paid close to $100 bucks. Good replacement ice maker for Kenmore refrigerator
I bought this to replace the ice maker in my Kenmore refrigerator. The fridge is pushing twenty years and OEM number crossed to this brand and model. I compared it to original when I got. It matched almost exactly. The only modification that I made was to cut out notch for water inlet. It plugged into wiring and and mounted with no problem. I reused lower mounting bracket. After that, it started making ice and I have no problems. I hadn’t realized how loud the old ice maker was but this one is much quieter.

Exactly as Expected
This ice maker fit perfectly into my Whirlpool freezer. It only took about 15 minutes to install and the instructions provided were very helpful. After a few weeks, it continues to work great.
The only deficiency was for one aspect of the instructions. The bar that shuts off the ice maker when it gets too full was not in the necessary slot when it was received. This may have been intentional to reduce damage during shipping. It was easy to put it into the correct slot, but that should be included in the instructions.Lire l'avis complet...

Very nice item helped us get our ice maker back up and running
We just installed this and it seems to be working very well. The ice tray is made of plastic instead of metal which will help keep the minerals in the water from deteriorating the tray over time. The bail wire that came with it is different. We are using it too see if all will be well however it looks like it will allow the ice maker to make too much ice before clicking off. If this happens we will just install the bail wire from the old unit and ever thing should be alright. The bail wire is very easy to install Time will tell if it holds up but for now we are back up and running and well pleased. Works great but had to jump a couple wires at first. That part was easy due to many online videos explaining how.
When I first hooked it up it didn't work. I was able to find videos online to "jump" it and then it started and works great. The jump part was pretty easy.

Clean Ice Now
Our 10 year refrigerator ice maker was making brown stalagmites in the tray. An appliance repairman charged is $55 to tell us it was problematic and there was no fix. The brown stain in the ice was rust from the unit. He'd charge us another $214 to replace it.
Ebay to the rescue! This unit looked to be a match so I ordered one for under $40. It came in a few days and I discovered only a minor designed modification was needed to the water fill tube inlet. Took less than an hour to install and it's been working perfectly since. A second benefit to the install is the HIGH WAF it created! (Wife Appreciation Factor) LOL
Just an added note that the ice maker was way past due for a change. The non-stick coating on the metal ice tray portion was badly corroded and undoubtedly may have been flaking off in the ice it made. YUK!Lire l'avis complet...

Low cost Whirpool Replacement Ice Maker
My 1 year old replacement ice maker for my 18 CU FT Whirlpool Refrigerator was not producing ice. Time for another replacement, why spend big bucks for a unit that has the same warranty as a cheap one. This $38 unit produces large volumes of ice. Exactly What I Needed!
This is the 3rd ice maker for our refrigerator over many years. I found the instructions easy to follow and the ice maker a quick install. I froze the ice maker for 24 hours before installation so it was ready to work. A couple of fill adjustments to accommodate out water pressure and we were up and running after 3 batches.
This machine's ice compartments seem better designed than the original and first replacement. The other machines' compartments flaked off leaving plastic bits and sheets in the ice cubes. The construction seems different enough to preclude that problem. Time (years) will tell.
I feel the replacement experience was very easy, and took me less than half an hour. Freeze your new ice maker for a day and you will be able to test and adjust the fill control much quicker.
