still wondering
just hooked this up on my 2.5 gal fluval tank. only been running for a couple days getting tank set up. Yes pieces especially clasps are thin and feel flimsy but so far so good. love the option of a spray bar. My filter is at the same level as the tank and not below as suggested, and it seems to be working fine...maybe a bigger flow if under the tank but for a betta, its plenty as is. concerned about cleaning time and how much will have to be dismantled....maybe unhooking both hoses????Lire l'avis complet...

A good little filter for the price.
Not bad for the price, Everything has good quality parts for the price, I only gripe I have is that the intake tube is not adjustable. the intake and output tubes are a very tight fit and need to be adjustable and the priming instructions don't work, I just filled up the canister with some of my aquarium water and it started cycling water right away. I have this setup in my 10 gallon and it works great since it has complete control flow.
Overall a good budget canister filter, it has it's problems but it works for what it is.Lire l'avis complet...

Way better than expected! In fact I want another one.
I've been running this tiny canister filter on my 20 gal tank for a week now and I'm amazed. It's the smallest canister filter I've ever seen so I was skeptical. I know they make a smaller one, the 602b, but I'm glad I chose this one. Inside it came with 4 filter pads and 2 baskets to provide space above and below the pads. I took all that out. This is a top-down canister like an Eheim so I put bio filters on the bottom. I placed 2 new plastic kitchen scrubbies under the bottom basket for bacteria to live on. Poured a kilo of Biohome Super Gravel on top of the basket. Then I replaced the coarse and medium pads on top of the Biohome. I put the last basket with 2 more scrubbies on top, filled the canister with water and sealed it up.
The lid has a very tight fit and does not leak. The pump has more flow than I was led to expect. It came with 2 hoses at least 5' long each which is more than enough for my needs. The filter is not as flimsy as some reviews make it sound. Sunsun does sell replacement parts but if you're that concerned just buy a 603 prefilter and that will give you a complete set of replacement parts except for the pump and hoses.
The only downside I've seen so far is having to siphon to get the canister primed. I think the larger Sunsun canister filters have a self-priming feature, but I would say this one was too small for that to be added. I'm still thoroughly pleased with this filter and I'm thinking of ordering another one.Lire l'avis complet...

Review after a month or two of use
Overall this item is excellent and high quality. I’m very skeptical about buying unbranded stuff and even shady brands I haven heard about before. With that said, I am extremely happy with this canister. I have had bad luck growing plants in my fresh water aquarium but this thing makes the difference. I have not only been able to keep my new plants but they have been blooming non-stop for the past 2 weeks. I’m not an expert but I can feel the difference from using one of those cheap filters and using this canister. I hope this info can help anybody out there.Lire l'avis complet...

decent for the money
I like the basic filter that it is. But this unit needs a way to prime the water. In the directions it says to put your mouth over the outgoing hose and suck til the water gets close. This is fine and dandy the first time until it has had tank water running through it.Lire l'avis complet...

Does what it says
Performing as expected so far. Runs quietly. Don't expect a huge gph flow. I have it as an auxiliary filter on a 30 gallon. I wouldn't use it solo on anything more than a 10-15 gallon.

Pump not 100 gph more like 55 gph
I just measured the flow of the filter and it's not quite what's advertised. I got this for a 20 gallon tank and instead of.cycling the water 5x per hour this is really only doing 1.7 cycles per hour. It's not quote as power as I wanted. It's also a little difficult to prime. I had to pump water directly into the intake hose for a prime to take.
What is nice is that it's been running strong for afew months with no leaks at all. The kit is very nice and complete.Lire l'avis complet...

Nice Filter! Quiet!
I have this running on a 10 gallon tank. Installation was easy. I cut a small hole in the hood to allow for the output tube. The flow is just right. The filter is super quiet and very efficient. I have no issues and am pretty happy with it. I hope the pump lasts...Lire l'avis complet...

easy to set up
Item is brand new, good size and easy to set up. 3 thick filter sponges that work great! and can be replaced with other types of filter material. I'm sure my pet turtle is going to enjoy it too!
