Does not seem to make much of a difference in audio recording quality
This Rode Mic did plug in to my Google phone (TRRS) and appeared to work automatically with current operating system. It did not make any discernible difference in audio recording quality. As per other reviews, the clip for attaching the mic does not fit over most protective cases; but the clip is removable so that you can use the mic without it and just tape it in place. The dead cat did not seem to make much difference indoors and, also per other reviews, it does get in the way of the camera so that you have to tape that back a little, too. Lire l'avis complet...

It got my Youtube channel up and running.
It is totally plug and play on my LG G4 which made me happy, I had read that Androids had issues recognizing external microphones for video recording. I'm still trying to figure out the limits of the wind sock thing, and controlling the volume of my voice based on the distance from the mic so I don't blow out speakers when I playback, so there is a small learning curve. Still needs a little design work
Works great, but difficult to attach to a phone using a case. I have not been able to solve this problem.

I love my new rode video mic me! I got it on time, brand new, and tested it (indoors) immediately and was pleased with the difference it made compared to just using my S7 edge internal mic only. Poor design
Clips sound severly for acoustic guitar performance. And only tiny improvement in voice only recording. Dead cat too large, blocks phone screen partially. Did not work for my particular needs. Stock phone mic works better when used with open camera app. Returned this product.Lire l'avis complet...

Quality is the same as camera build-in mic
Purchased to complement a Canon EOS-M6. Verdict:, don't bother.
It's no better than the camera's own mic. If you leave the camera on auto gain control, the level of hiss is totally unacceptable. If you turn the gain down manually you get good sound, yes, but again, it's no better than the camera's own mic and extra messing around is needed.
I bought it to record video based training & presentations as well as general use. I tested it for this use, and also pointed it at other sound sources such as playing music, distant traffic, ambient noise sources etc. Tested at various gain levels and auto.Lire l'avis complet...

Quality sound, near professional audio
I've use a lot of microphones in radio and podcast production, and I love the Rode VideoMic Me. The build quality is incredible, and the sound is phenomenal considering its size and the fact it has no power.
