Rock Revolution, Not a Guitar hero clone.

In the spirit of the famouse Guitar Hero series, this game rocks on and on.
There are not as many songs in this game as in the Guitar hero series, however the music is more on the newer side. There are a few tracks from the olden times, (the 80's) But if you like the newer stuff then this is your game.
The Fret interface is totally different from what you are used to with Guitar hero, and I must say it is a lot harder to play., as it goes by very fast and you can forget Star power.
This is a nice little clone, but not what you are used to. Welcome to a whole new venue.
This game is fun to play, but not worth the new price tag like the guitar hero series. Save your $$ for the next in line Guitar hero games.

Good fun .

I've seen lots of bad reviews about this game but they usually come from people who have not actually played it or have not given this game any time. The concept is the same as Guitar Hero and Rockband games but it also has a studio section where you can create your own tracks. All the whining about this game is due to the 2d scrolling fret board so because it's not at an angle everyone has to moan about it.Once you get used to it it really not a problem and it actually gives you more time to see the notes because it's a full fretboard and not 3/4 and at an angle.I also heard moans about all the cover version,Well they really are not that bad,There are a few stinkers but really you don't notice when you are concentrating on the notes.Sure this is not as good as GH or Rockband franchises but if you have finished those or got bored with the tracks this game is a good alternative if you give it a chance and it's also $20.00 all over now.Rent it 1st see if you like it .Lire l'avis complet...

Rock Revolution? Hardly.

Being a music-based game junkie, I finally caved and bought Rock Revolution. I was dissapointed and that is saying a lot considering my expectations weren't very high to begin with.

Rock Revoluion doesn't hold it's own against other band/rhythm based games. It tries weakly to make itself unique by having the note highway runs to the far left and vertical as opposed to centered and "at you", the "Challenges" are borderline bizzare (Avoid "poisoned notes"? Really?) and, the most frustrating aspect is by Konami using cover bands instead of licensing the real music by the real artists. Didn't they realize that is taking huge steps backwards and that the industry pretty much stopped doing that after Guitar Hero 2?

If you are looking for a new rock game and are done with the Guitar Heroes and Rock Bands, I would definitely stay away from this mistake and go with Band Hero....

Not that fun.

Doesn't have vocals and the way the note/ color patterns come down is hard to get used to. Timing is weird. I probably won't play it again. I like rock band and guitar hero better.

Some Good Songs

Rock Revolution seems to be a knock-off of GH World Tour/Rock Band, with some likeable differences. One drawback for me is having the notes in a one-dimensional format. Some of the songs (and I will only say some) make it a good game. I just wish that more familiar song tracks would have been there, but even the other two band games are just as guilty. Don't know if there will be a 2nd version, but if there will be, at least add more choice tunes.Lire l'avis complet...

Not for fans of the the more popular guitar games.

The songs on this game are not bad, in fact there are some good ones. Here is the problem...or problems. The songs are not sung by the real artists, some of the covers were done very well, others are karaoke grade. The classic color match scrolling notes are very small, hard to see and unlike the name brands need to be hit very precise or you will fail a song quickly. This game can not compete with the big companies who get actual big name bands, more songs and much much smoother game play. All in all this could be a good game if the others didn't exist. It is just too little too late.Lire l'avis complet...

reviews help but they are just opinions

Why all the bad feedback from this game? This is a very cool game. Fun and challenging. It's not rock band or guitar hero but it's not supposed to be. I loved both and I really like this game as well. Just because it is different than R.B and G.H doesn't make it bad, just makes it different. If you give it a chance with an open mind you also will like it for what "differences" it has and what additions it has to offer. Under $10 you'll no doubt get your money's worth.Lire l'avis complet...

Worst music based game available.

While I bought the game cheap, without the drumset. I knew what I was jumping into. I knew this game was not Guitar Hero or Rock Band. There are some good songs, but all of them are cover songs. The drop down notes makes it feel like you have less time to prepare for what is coming up. Makes the expert setting a little challenging.

Other modes that are built in to career mode are so-so. Memorize a section of a song, and play it back without and notes showing up onscreen. Play a song as it speed up till the end and the poison note challenge, where you play the song but watch out for the fake notes. Those are all different, but not that great.

If I didn't buy this game for the price of a rental I would be upset.

Nice game with a good music selection.

I like the game, has a nice selection of music. So far i haven't use it with the drums or guitars witch in my opinion are essentials to play this game. If you are willing to buy this game, consider to buy a drum or guitar. It could have more songs i think.Lire l'avis complet...

Not so rocking...

The game has great music to play with, but with Rockband and BandHero games being the most sought-out games, we grow accustomed to having the notes come down the middle of the screen in a certain descending vertical style...in this game, the notes go down completely vertical, and are at the left side of the screen.
