Rock Band 2 (beware of new, but incomplete)

After buying The Beatles: Rock Band I decided to try out the other Rock Band products a bit. I own all the Guitar Hero games for Wii since GH III, and was looking for more things to jam on.

The game itself is very good, and the DLC (downloadable content) far exceeds what I found available through my GH products. DLC makes these games for me because I can be selective and my Rock Band library is growing by the week. Accessing DLC and some of my favorite tunes on GH is problematic, certain songs cannot be carried over to the newer games due to licensing etc... In Rock Band 2 they eventually release songs from add-on packs to the DLC list, so the listings are much larger and varied.

*** A note on the purchase of Rock Band 2 for me. The game was in original wrapping (new) as listed, however I believe the game was pulled from a band kit or some other packaged set. I did not have the coupon for 20 free DLC (major disappointment) or a serial number I could use on the website to track my status online. This reduced the value of my buy significantly, the coupon alone is a HUGE value and 20 songs is easy to find with the large library Rock Band 2 has. ***

Great, but not excellent

Rockband 2 for the wii is a great game no real complaints at all. it plays all the songs well, and its a great time with your friends. the only thing that is upsetting about it is the graphical quality.

normally i am not a graphics guy to begin with, but after playing the 360 version you can definitely see a change in detail. not letting it bother me though because the game is fun no matter as long as you have friends to rock out with.

just make sure you have someone who is willing to sing. LOL

or bring me along I'll sing haha

Best game ever, but done better on other systems

I have both Rock Band 1 and Rock Band 2 for Xbox 360 and am completely addicted to it! I bought this Rock Band 2 game for the Wii for a friend who shared in my love for the game, however she did not have an Xbox 360 or PS3.

Although RB1 was easier to find and cheaper, RB2 was my obvious game of choice because the instruments are much improved (drums quieter, more bounce, better feel/more comfortable to play). Also RB1 lacked the ability to connect online to download new song content and also lacked the ability to play against others online.

RB2 has many improvements and additions to their game interface, including improved character customization, the ability to use one character for any instrument instead of making 4 characters, one for each role. Also there is a drum trainer mode, which is totally awesome! Being an amateur drummer, I was really excited to use the drum trainer to practice beats to the metronome and have the ability to play it faster/slower and to my own music! Other forums have more about the added/improved features, but those are just a few that stand out to me personally.

RB on Wii is a little more of a hassle because the songs from RB1 do not transfer over to RB2 like the Xbox 360 or PS3 version. Also downloading songs would require an extra storage device. Other than that, gameplay and instruments are the same. The only reason to purchase RB1 would just be if you are in love with the songs because that's all the disc is good for.

Overall, I would rate Rock Band 2 for Wii with high ratings because I have already spent countless Rock Band Sessions with friends and alone and have still not lost interest. Despite some of the drawbacks of being on the Wii system, Rock Band 2 still has the same features as the other systems, just more hoops to jump over, which if the Wii is the only system you have, then it's still very much worth it, especially over Rock Band 1 for the Wii. I hope this review was helpful! Rock on!

Wii Rock

Pretty fun game good on the price. A small taste of what it's like to play a real instrument.

Fast and reliable!

I’m so happy to be able to relive my childhood games, and especially happy with the quickness it shipped and the disk was in great shape

Good game quality but

The quality of the game was good, just wish I knew the WiFi connection for the Wii to get more songs worked. What is on the disk is what you get.

Really nice track list, good multiplayer modes

I decided to buy a game to play with friends. It has to be challenging, deep and fun. Then i choose Rock Band 2 - their track list has some amazing songs, like "Livin on a prayer" Bon jovi, "Everlong" Foo Fighters, "Carry on my wayward son" Kansas, "Go your own way" Fleetwood Mac and much more. The Band Quickplay is easy and very fun, the "extras" also add a lot in the experience - the "no fail" mode make the game more accessible and less frustrating. One of my friends had bought "The Beatles Rock Band" (the whole bundle) so we have instruments for all the others. Really, a MUST-HAVE game, for those ones who like Guitar Hero.Lire l'avis complet...

Thank you!

Your game arrived just in time for me and my boyfriends anniversary, and it was great to surprise him with one of his favorite childhood games!

Game is great! Can be used with GHWT instruments.

I bought the game software because I read that it will play with Guitar Hero World Tour instruments and it does.

If you already own GTWT you can play this game without buying the entire band.r>
We haven't tried to sing.. because we are not karaoke fans.. and have no desire to sing. but the drums and guitar work fine. (you don't need the orange cymble because Rock Band doesn't have orange.)

Great addition to your band experience.Lire l'avis complet...
