Interesting book that I highly recommend
I was impressed with this book by Dan Brown and hope to read others by him. He was very opened minded about the Bible and Christianity. I am a Christian and as a child was taught the Bible literally so some of his ideas take some thought. That is ironic since the book is about "thought and creativity". Interesting take on all. I enjoyed it very much. I especially enjoyed the Masonic history and the connection to Christianity. Highly recommended as a great read. Lire l'avis complet...

The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown
I love Dan Brown. The Lost Symbol contained new ideas about how we view ourselves and our world that I found interesting and helpful. I am a "Christian" but have problems with interpreting the Bible literally. I am not a fundamentalist. The Lost Symbol provided an alternative interpretation I believe is possible. Some of the Masonic themes, however, I found a bit far fetched; probably because my husband is a Mason; however, he does not belong to the Scottish Rite which is featured in the book. The book's introduction to Noetic science was very fascinating to me and reassuring. I googled Noetic science and was amazed and reassured by what I found. I would recommend this book for anyone looking for entertainment to alternative religious thinking.Lire l'avis complet...

Good read, but not as good as its two predecessors.
"The Lost Symbol" is in my view the weakest of the "Robert Langdon" trilogy. It starts really good with Dan Brown's trademark fast action and scientific/religious backdrop. The problem is that the villain's motives are too vague and too far-fetched that it is not believable. That's not to say that this is not a good book to read. It just doesn't rise to the same level of its two predecessors "Angels and Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code". So I would recommend reading this book only if you have already read the first two.Lire l'avis complet...
