My Review of the novel Origin by Dan Brown

A very good read. A book with high-packed adventure, intriguing every step of the way, and captivating. I had to read on and couldn't let go of the book. I do not agree with the atheist views of the author but find his writing excellent and compelling. Consider it as a good work of fiction which is in fact what it truly is.Lire l'avis complet...

Spell binding

While a bit different from previous Dan brown novels, the author remains true to his ability to string us along without becoming tedious or boring. I do recommend it. Fairly quick read; I finished it in short number of daysLire l'avis complet...

Dan Brown's latest Robert Langdon outing deserves a better format.

Dan Brown's Robert Langdon books are simply wonderful. Filled with ancient mysteries, conspiracy theories, and short courses in ancient art and architecture as well as religious history, the Robert Langdon books have enchanted me. (Brown's other, non-Langdon books leave me cold.)
Origin is not the best of the Langdon series, yet it will not disappoint fans. At least, it will not disappoint in terms of content. Its form is another matter.
My copy of Origin is the most poorly produced hardcover book in my Langdon collection.
5-Stars for the content! 3-Stars for the book itself.
The dust jacket is glued to the book cover! Why? The pages are not sewn in signatures, but glued to a stiff, unyielding spine. The margins are irregular. Why? Sometimes the text vanishes into the deep crevice between pages. You may need a flashlight and magnifier to access the text near the spine. Why? Furthermore, the text quality is very poor, with illegible letters that occur on most pages. Is this a puzzle book? Is the reader supposed to be challenged to decipher the weird words with letters missing? Why?
I have beautiful hardcover editions of the first four langdon books. I treasure them! They are everything a book collector would expect. I even have an illustrated edition of The DaVinci Code filled with art, architecture and symbology. A beautiful edition! I would certainly buy a decent hardcover of Origin, should one be released. I will likely donate this inferior edition to the library.
I highly recommend this book, but as a lifelong book collector I never thought I would say this: Wait for the paperback! It will surely be a better quality than this hard cover disgrace.

Origin

This book is absolutely one of Dan Brown's best books. I can't wait for his next book. He is an awesome author and once you start this book you won't want to put it down.

A good, easy read.

Another Dan Brown thriller! An easy read with just enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. "Origin" is difficult to put down, just like other Dan Brown novels.

Fantastic and super fun

Just as great as all the rest of the Dan Brown novels featuring Robert Langdon. This one is a little more high-tech and Design but still compelling super fast and fun, and just a joy to read. If you'd like the others you're going to love this one if you did not you're not going to like it.Lire l'avis complet...

Whodunit about AI featuring Brown’s “Robert Langdon” character.

Purchased the hard cover for my spouse after our visit to Barcelona. She does not like to read e-books. I had already read Origin in the past on Kindle. She enjoyed it as it referenced venues we had just visited. Lire l'avis complet...
