ONE NICE ENGINE
this is one nice engine because despite the price and certain limitation , it actually looks great and sounds fantastic. of course due to the loksound decoder, you cant beat the sound coming from this engine. the detail is not the best but were here to run our engines and not always admire them. it lacks smoke but that's ok , nobody really makes a real smoke system anyway. I say go for this engine , it wont disappoint . honestly it makes a great addition to the collection for those that want a big boy but cant afford to add one on to their collection.Lire l'avis complet...

Good loco at the right price
This is a product review not a seller review. Rivarossi delivers on this run of the 2-8-2. Mechanism works well on DC. Did not try for DCC compatibility. Boiler shell has basic molded on detail. The shell seems to match other (older) releases. Meaning it lacks add-on or road specific details. If that matters to you, be aware of that. Vanderbilt tender is very nice. Shape is correct, has more detail. My purchase did not have knuckle couplers but that's an EZ swap out. Splitting hairs, the cab numbers font is wrong, "Rocky" logo on tender is sub-standard (replace with Microscale decals if desired), boiler color is off IMO. I am happy with this overall because the operation is VG, & it's a solid loco for the price. Look for a NIB or LNIB example. The model is a good deal at the right priceLire l'avis complet...

Great Model
Model runs and tested excellent. Has no problem running at slow speeds or fast speeds. Love the sounds.
