So far it works great!! I never thought I’d be able to play any of the older resident evil games, especially RE1 because the price is usually so inflated, this was a godsend.

The Creation of the Survivor Horror Video Game

Resident Evil for PS One, started something that won't be finished until the end of all video games---The survival horror RPG.

This game is much like a cheesy horror movie at your control. You have various weapons to choose from that you can find throughout the game, like the Beretta, 12 gauge, Magnum, and the ever-painful bazooka; furthermore, a variety of enemies from the slow moving zombie to the fast Hunter and the end boss, the vicious and fast Tyrant. Tons of twists and turns in the plot as well as many puzzles keep your mind in constant thought and question.

This game itself next to a sequel later down the road known as Resident Evil 4, is my favorite game of all time----Definitely the greatest Playstation 1 game ever made. I first played this game in 8th grade and I was hooked. I have conquered the game several times and can't get enough of it.

If you're into this kind of game, Resident Evil 4 is just the type of game for you---The greatest video game ever made and it is out on Playstation 2 and Gamecube.

Resident Evil (Playstation)

Very great and classic game, I first played it a while back in the late 90's at a friends house. I was amazed by the games theme and horror atmosphere, the sound and music (not including the character dialogs) are excellent and really puts the player in the mood of the game. Many years later (up till bought now) I bought an original Playstation and a copy of Resident Evil, had a lot of fun with it. Finished the games both characters quests within a month, but still kept playing in attempt to see how fast I can beat it. The horror starts here!!!!

This game, especially at the time, was and is truly amazing. The graphics were top notch, especially the cutscenes. The storyline is compelling(if not a little cheesy). The voice acting is very hilarious and bad, but that makes this game funny...and it is a welcome laugh after being scared! The controls are easy to grasp and the gameplay is a sinch to master. The puzzles are hard the first time around, but still fun after playing the game 40 times. The array of enemies is expansive and inventive. And there is still no better satisfaction that blowing a Zombie's head off with a Shotgun!

If you've never played resident evil, you should start here. If your just joining the fan club after RE4, you should play ALL the games in order. This game TRULY changed the way we feel about, play and look at video games. This is probably the most important game of the last 10 years, no kidding!Lire l'avis complet...

The experience is worth your money

They dont make games like this anymore, especially if the theme is about survival horror and i mean survival horror. Being able to walk all alone in a mansion full of surprises and twists as well as only carrying a handful of items not to mention blood thirsty zombies. You'll run out of ammo before you know it and get cornered like a rat making this one of the best true survival horror titles ever created for the Playstation. Although the characters in this title are blocky polygons, the pre-rendered backrounds, eerie music and horror elements that pop up greatly make up for the low bugdget characters and acting.

Resident Evil

I am a big Resident Evil fan nd this is the game that started it all. In my opinion this is the best Resident Evilgame ever eventhough the graphics are not as good compared to the ones on the new platforms it is still a great game. I own a lot of Resident Evil games in different platforms but this one is one of my favorites because it is the very first one I played and the one that got me hooked up to the Resident Evil series and again in my opinion the best one ever. + Creepy, spooky atmosphere.

Cons
- Graphics not too sharp.
- Voice acting is really cheesy.
- Camera angles make things hard on the player.

Comments
This would be the first of many. Resident Evil set the standard for the survival horror game but at the same time created cliches like cinematic camera angles that made games almost impossible to play at times. We all learned to play around it but it would have been great to have a few more camera angles to choose from.

Awesome game! Good collectible!

Capcom's 1996 title "Resident Evil" was the first in the franchise's saga, with the original title "Biohazard", paving the way in Japan, this game skyrocketed in sales both in North America and in it's country of origin. Many of the games controls and camera schemes are actually no longer used today and is a treat for any survival horror fans who remember the title during its genesis. Don't confuse this Resident Evil with Resident Evil: Director's Cut also out for the same console (Playstation, PSX) This version is in its NTSC North American censored version due to strong violence and tobacco use, which was (then) frowned upon. Even so, don't let it discourage you from playing the game as there is plenty of blood and decapitations to go around. True Survival

This is the game that got me into survival horror. The feeling when I pop this game in still captivates me. This is true RE at its purest form. Definitely worth a buy. 10/10
