Good game, worth the money. Not scary, which is disappointing. 4/5.

Let me start off by saying that I'm an avid RE fan. Having played just about every game, I can differentiate between a good game, and a bad one. Resident evil 5 is a good game. The controls are simple, and the aiming with the laser sighting is easy enough. It IS NOT however a survival horror game like past RE games. Capcom completely threw out the survival horror take and put in what I call action survival. This game isn't scary at all, which disappointed me the first time I played it. It has a lot of action, but RE is known for being scary, not having tons of action. That being said, RE5 is good, just like all the other games, it just depends on your taste. If you like the old-school RE games more because of their fear aspect, then you won't appreciate this game for what it's worth. RE5 is yet another success in the RE franchise, so you can't go wrong when you buy it. The gold edition of the game is packed with all the DLC for RE5, all on one disc. HOWEVER, you must beat the game in order to unlock most of it, which I didn't know. After a couple chapters you unlock Lost in Nightmares. And the only mode available to you from the beginning is Versus mode. You have to unlock everything else. All in all, I give it a 4 out of 5. It's worth the money, especially if you get the gold edition, which I recommend.Lire l'avis complet...

Great co-op experience.

I'm just going to say that yes this game is a bit of a departure from the classic RE games of the PS1 era. The game shares more similarities with its predecossor, RE4, than the other games and is a bit more action focused than them as well.

That said, the game is an absolute blast to play in co-op, so much that I wouldn't recommend buying the game if you have any intention on rolling solo. Just don't...

Also, Gold Edition comes with two extra scenarios, Lost In Nightmares, a prequel and tribute to the older games with a much more spooky atmosphere and limited ammunition reminiscent of the older games, and Desperate Escape, a continuation from one of the big plot points of RE5, itself.

Both feature the return of Jill Valentine (as the cover art alludes to) and are great additions to the already decent sized main game.

Again, highly recommended for a good co-op game. Do not try to use the AI as your partner. It does the job but it's definitely not as fun without a human player with you.

Good Game, Tons of Content

I'll start off by saying that I am a fan of the Resident Evil Gaming Franchise (I think the movies are horrid). I opened this game with high hopes and I wasn't let down, their was a lot of content and a decent storyline, although I wish there was more in regards to the story. The graphics were excellent, the sound was excellent. But it was lacking something, and after reading some other reviews I realized that it was the scare factor. This game is completely void of anything scary whatsoever. You run through just killing zombies and at the end of the game, you're thinking well... that wasn't what I thought. However the extra content comes in where the game was lacking, the extra missions given through the gold edition did have a well thought out story and decent scare factor as well. I think adding multiplayer was a smart move too, but the controls are not refined enough to make multiplayer an addicting option. Everyone knows that resident evil controls aren't the best, and maybe keeping them the same is a good choice because they are unique but as a shooter/action game I would have liked to have seen more mainstream controls implemented.

So overall I rated this game Good because the graphics and add ons. If that's what you are looking for than you will be happy to have this game. If not, I'd spend my money elsewhere

Great buy for those who are going to buy this game the first time.

One the the great coop games ever played in my opinion. You need absolute teamwork or if you are good enough you can solo if you like. The included expansions are a plus and after waiting for a bit you get to have the game for even a cheaper price. Sad though and unfair that new move players will have to buy this game if they already have the Original copy. The game is worth it if you don't have the original copy. Otherwise buy the add ons and enjoy the game as is.Lire l'avis complet...

bought it for the Arch!

I still believe the ARCH was the better name for the now called "the move" on the PS3. It did make me feel more free to target and move about with ease as compared to button mashing all the time.
If you hold no want for a "wii controller" I suggest the purchase of the cheaper retail 19.99 game without the DLCs inside it.

A must have for a single player gamer

Bottom Line- Resident Evil 5 is pretty damn good. I have already played this game fully through and wanted to buy it and add it to my collection. You really should invest in this game because with the features you unlock, extra missions, and trophies provided, the game really does encourage you to play again. But if you haven't played, don't hesitate on whether you'll like it. The storyline was very captivating and suspensful, and did provide necessary background information to those not very familiar with the series. The enemies were well balanced (no stupid AI's) and you really had to learn what weapons/explosives worked best with which enemy. RE5 certainly challenges you to do a little strategizing, rather than letting you mindlessly blow your way through the game. Also in RE5, they really do an excellent job of changing the sceneries. Urban West Africa, Cave mines, oil plant, ship decks, were just a few of them. Puzzles, finding well placed gems/jewels were also very fun and well crafted. Instead of me going on and on, just buy the game for yourself and you'll see that this game is certainly more than your average one and done. No matter what game you've played in the series, you'll like this one.Lire l'avis complet...

Great Game. Currently Good Price.

This game is not as scarey as it's predecessors. It has it's moments. But what it does well is, it's pact full of action and great game play. Along with the usual shoot em up survival horror RE(Resident Evil) is known for. There are car chases and reaction time mini games, which changes things up in a refreshing way. You're always being given new items to help you fight so you never get tired of the toys you have to play with. I haven't played through the add on content in gold edition so I can't give it a review. But just with RE5 alone I give it a 5/5Lire l'avis complet...

Enough fun for years

The controls are not fluid like Uncharted, but the graphics, online play experience and different levels from Amateur to Professional will keep it challenging you for awhile. There are also head-to-head combat against other players (death-matches) as well as 3 extra story lines. Finally the gold version is ready for PS3 motion due out later this year, which may make the playing experience even more enjoyable.Lire l'avis complet...
