A little wacky, kind of hard, a lot of fun!

Raving Rabbids reminds me of the Killer Bunnies in Monty Python's Holy Grail, like the movie there's a sense of irreverence about the game that makes it quite hilarious. Shooting bunnies with toilet plungers (Bunnies Don't Like to be Disturbed on Holiday), throwing cows (Bunnies Don't Know What to do with Cows), disco dancing (Bunnies Love to Dance), running with dynamite (Bunnies Don't Give Gifts) Raving Rabbids is a great party game that doesn't take itself too seriously.

The game allows up to 4 players and it works pretty well for for ages 6 and up. The skill level necessary to play the games is a little difficult for any age, but particularly frustrating for the younger aged kids. Many of the games are a race against the clock, which combined with the difficulty level can be overwhelming, even as it's still funny.

Raving Rabbis has a Story Mode and a Score Mode. While you can play a few of the games in the Score Mode, the majority of them are locked until they are "won" in the Story Mode, which can be frustrating. Winning can be difficult but gratifying so the game is challenging enough to make you work for it, fun enough so you want to keep trying. My kids 5 & 7 still have fun playing the few games that are available in Score Mode and now after 3 months of owning it, still like playing it.

If the makers had allowed players to partake in more games in the Score Mode (only about 10% of the games are playable in Score Mode until you unlock more in the Story Mode) I would rate it excellent. As it is, my whole family still loves the game enough that we bought Raving Rabbids 2.

Rayman Raving Rabbids (Wii)

All of the minigames are hilarious, and most of them are also fun to play. My two qualms are a) there is too much overlap in the gameplay of the various minigames. There are about 10 levels of on-the-rails shooter, 15 DDR-esque music play, and a bunch of distinct games where you have to pump the two controllers really fast.

The games that I loved and went back to were those that had something unique about them (for example, the game where you have to use the speaker in the wii-mote to listen to your pig that guides you through a maze; also the game of red light green light where you have to pump the controllers and then point at the middle of the screen to stop); and b) it takes quite a while to unlock the multiplayer challenges (where a bunch of minigames are strung together so that you can play multiplayer with a finite time-period in mind, as opposed to just playing random minis).

Since I bought the game almost exclusively to play with friends, it would have been nice if they had more multiplayer challenge options to begin with. All in all though, Rayman and Wii Sports have definitely satisfied my multiplayer desires at launch.

So freaking fun!

I bought this for my son when it first came out and we had a blast. I'm old school so I don't like task/quest based games that take endless hours to complete. I just want to have some chaotic fun. This game delivers. I actually bought this used ebay copy for a friend of mine to play with his kid. It's loaded with humor, action, and you can easily play it for 10 minutes or 10 hours.Lire l'avis complet...

exhibition of wii capabilities

it is what it is, a bunch of short minigames meant to show off and utilize wii controls but very little else. I bought it so as to have a group game to play with my friends and family. my family shows little interest, though i will say my gf is somewhat amused; especially with the shooting plunger minigames and racing.

the story mode will take you a few hours to blast through which is good and bad; great that you wont have to spend days unlocking everything, a little disappointing that it seems over so very fast once its said and done. that aside, the minigames are entertaining. some work well, some just flat out stink and will leave you cursing the developers for making you have to do them. the plunger shooting games are fun but perhaps a bit too easy (as are most of the games). the racing is entertaining even if the controls for it aren't great; hey, its no mariokart but its fun in its own rights. the dancing/drumming game is always a kick. many more that i won't mention except to say they have some value.

all in all, it was decent when i played the game the first time around. got tired of it half way through though. a bit repetitive. haven't played it since really. if you have a lot of friends over or little kids, this may be the game for you as it is certainly more fun with others but the lack of a more robust assortment of simultaneous multiplayer games (most only let you take turns playing to beat each others scores) you may find it lacking as well).

family game

I bought this because it was on the recommended family games in the family fun mag. It is indeed great family fun. The story mode is single player but we seem to have no trouble taking turns. The turns go quickly and it is fun to do actions not just pushing thumbs. You are on your feet working. My arms we even sore. The game is against "rabbid" rabbits and some of the mini games seem cruel to my kids like hitting rabbits on the head with a shovel. But it is presented all in fun. The dance one is my personal favorite and it helps the kids with rythmn.Lire l'avis complet...

Just as expected

The game came in really fast and I played it right away! I’ve loved this game as a kid and it’s still as fun as I remember it. The package was small so it fit in my mailbox and I didn’t have to worry about it setting in the rain.Lire l'avis complet...

Tons of mini games - lots of fun!

This game really showcases what the remote and nunchuk for the wii console are capable of. There are mini games where you shake the nunchuk and remote as you keep in time with bunnies dancing to music. There are games where you shoot plungers at bunnies by aiming and shooting with the remote, and reloading your weapon by shaking the nunchuk. My favorites are the one where you smack the bunny choir boy that sings out of tune, or the whack a mole game with bunnies instead of moles (cow tossing was a blast too!). A really fun, super cute game. I gave it a 4 out of 5 only because there are 4 mini games that are damn near impossible to finish, and they made me want to throw my controller at my plasma TV. But, they are the exception - this game is mostly just pure fun!Lire l'avis complet...

Great fun... and a work out ;o

This game is great, the mini games are wacky and fun and include those little bunnies you love to hate. Of course in this game ray man doesn't have much of an adventure, but if your looking for pure entertainment and mini games are okay with you, then this game brings it. Also, the games aren't just fun, some of them actually get you running around the room and giving your arms and legs a great work out. So for fun (or fitness ;o) this game is a great one.Lire l'avis complet...

This game that suitible for anybody.

I had rented this game before, but I decided to buy it because their was so much to do on it. I liked the adventure mode because you could unlock new costums as you progressed in the game. Examples-the gangster outfit, soccer player, gothic, mexican suit and so on. I also like this game because it is really fun with friends. I got Rayman Raving Rabbids(the first one) and not the second one because the first one has the best mini games. I rented the second but it only had 2 or 3 really fun games in it. the first one had these really fun dancing games were you would use the wii remote and numchuke and you would shake them up and down to the beat of the music. The music was really good too. The second one had a bunch of slow love songs and a ton of hippy music. Rayman Raving Rabbids is kind of old so it cost around $20 in the store which is less then half the price of every other $50 wii game. I think this game is really worth buying.Lire l'avis complet...

Great game, especially if you can get it for 30 bucks!

I paid 30 dollars for this game and would easily do it again. I think this game takes full advantage of the Wii's controller/remote and Ubisoft did a great job in producing this game. I have not really found any flaws within this game so far, it's a fun game to play by yourself and even better to play with a friend, I suppose the only down part is the story line and the games progression isn't really exciting, it's just a lot of mini games (not a bad thing though), but if you like wario ware, then this game is for you. This game could most easily be described as a more glamorous and better looking version of wario ware. There are tons of mini games and they'll keep you playing for hours. I found myself turning off the system, but coming back 10 minutes later. This game has tons of replay value and is just as fun the second, third, or tenth time you play through! Definately worth 50 dollars, but if you can get it for 30 you'll surely get your money's worth no matter what kind of games you like.Lire l'avis complet...
